    They're all idiots

Not that we didn't already know that, but it needed to be said. All of this Democrat v. Republican game just distracts us from the fact, the they are all morons. ALL OF THEM. Well, almost.

Our elected officials only seem to care about being elected again. Who's interests are they serving? It doesn't seem to be the American people. Acting for the benefit of the citizens, or just pandering to public opinion and playing the spin game. Who can have the best sound bite on the nightly news.

Don't have positive policies to enact for the betterment of this country? Its OK, just point fingers and shout about how BAD the other guys are. No one will notice how bad you are.

I think the real issue is that they ALL believe in government and its ability to do good and fix things.

That's the only common thread between all politicians. They arrogantly proceed without considering that free people can and will solve their own problems 99% of the time.

The government can do great things when being lead by competent people. Public lands, interstate highways etc... Infrastructure for the public good and regulations ensuring we all get a fair shake. The government created the Bill of Rights, one of the best things ever written.

This a recurring theme. Nobody who hates big government thinks there should be NO government.

I'm referring to the 90% of what the feds do that they have no constitutional business doing.
The founders limited the federal government greatly in the constitution because of what you just said. They knew that a government lead by competent people would give way to the incompetent, to bloated bureaucracy, to greed, to hunger for power.
They knew it. We should know it too but we don't. It's human nature. It can't be stopped. That's why they built the system to place power in then smallest possible units of government. Local and State - And in the hands of individual free people. We are giving our freedom to "The State" and the founders knew they could not be trusted with it.

If we are a government of the people then the people can demand that it should do more than what it was originally written it should do...and they have.

They arrogantly proceed without considering that free people can and will solve their own problems 99% of the time.

Mix in a civics lesson with the crack pipe next time. It's not what the people want, but what passes a constitutional litmus test.

Right. "We are a nation of laws not of men" is the saying you hear a lot.
