What is your take on the word colour, or honour, or the pronunciation of Aluminum?

Yeah, I get that there are spelling (and even pronunciation) variations between the US and Canadia and Merrye Olde England. I didn't come across anything that claimed that 'lense' was the standard spelling for the Queen's English. Feel free to enlighten me, but I will probably still claim to be right because this is an internet forum and I'm a stubborn, obnoxious American and I fucking asked for French fries, not some goddamn chips.

imagine if you were a copy editor for a job...then you'd (=you would) really lose you're shit like I do everyday!

    more common ones:

they're / there / their - drives me freakin nuts.

its / it's - just ask yourself, would you say, it is if you weren't so lazy?

where / were / we're - seriously? some of those words aren't even related!

    effect / affect

words & overused phrases I hate in general:

myriad (especially because so many use it without 'of', even though it's technically proper both ways, it just makes me bonkers...)

    plethora

    flora and fauna

All the really cool people know that intelligible writing is for nerds. Ignorant misspellings demonstrate one's steeze, not unlike wearing one's pants around the knees.

Man, it's so cool to be a dumb-ass.

The thread originator could use a lesson in the use of commas. He must be an idiot. Sure, he knows how to us apostrophes, but can he use commas correctly?

Also, who the fuck is this guy? He has 120 post and he is trying to correct people?

I don't really get why your getting you're panties in a bunch about this. Your able to figure out what people mean in their post's right? Maybe your just a little slow, and that's you're problem not ours. Perhaps if you stopped you're bitching and went out skiing instead of complaining about you're problems you would be able to move on with you're life. As far as I am concerned your just being a little girl about the whole thing.

You're right, I don't know how to use commas. I just always thought they were fucked up periods.

    Yep, I'm an idiot.

Rant != trying to correct people.

edit: (now you can get pissed at me for correcting you)

And finally, I think I'm pissing people off!

Yeah, and I want the captions for those pictures to be grammatically correct. Is that too much to ask?

Seriously, though, people who suck at grammar always make excuses for why grammar doesn't matter.

One might even end up using "like" in conjunctive manner when followed by a verb.

    Living vicariously through myself.
