A ski area that encourages uphill traffic and if it were it the right spot maybe even a hut system...I think a hut system in the states is long overdue...

    Great idea.

Let's go one step further and make the huts totally dope, eco friendly and even use the snowmelt to make their own beer.

    Hire good consultants.

You can go 'round and 'round about conservation, locale, and access or you can hire some good consultants and get the job done.

    That's what I want in a ski area...good consultants.

A consultant? I wish for my ski area to have what us skier's (and boarders) want, not some consultant.

A guy selling pretzels, fresh baked cookies and other carbo snacks as well as drinks at the entrance to the lift maze, real quick like at-the-ballpark-style.

Getting hydrated and refueled on the go, instead of stopping and losing momentum during epic laps, would be sweet!

Good idea but I think I would rather have topless naughty school girls selling hot dogs.

How about visual signs, instead of open and closed signs, have thumbs up and thumbs down?

Also, fun names for runs, not the standard "headwall", "high traverse" and "north bowl".

Cool things to do on down days.

Whether it is avalanche education and beacon searches, showing good movies, or playing games, it would be rad for a ski area to offer fun things to do on days that skiing is less-than-stellar.

I think most ski mountains have a "pony trail", so you should probably throw that in there.

A low gradient, short, ski down from the parking lot to the mountain base would be nice (assuming you can ski to the lot, and not have to walk up from the base).

I am tired of filling out surveys when I am having lunch.

More detailed lift operation status messages, not just open/standby/closed. It'd be nice to know an expected open time, or the reason it is closed (avalanche control, alpine wind, mechanical, ...)

    actually catch people stealing skis

A ski area with a dedicated place for camping, hot showers, and RV hook ups. Encouraging skiers and boarders to camp at the base, instead of chasing them off.

Also, a nice hot tub/sauna, available to use by the hour. Bonus points if it is fueled by fire or other off-the-grid means.

It's been mentioned before, but a cool parking lot experience.

This mean free parking (if your rich and want to valet, go ahead), no security-guard-mentality-attendants, not parked super tight, and not so far from the lift you have to wear Cat Tracks to save your soles.

Music at the bottom of lifts and at meeting spots (not two different kinds playing over each other).

Why not even have local musicians playing with a tip jar?

Fusing skiing and music together makes lots of sense to me!

Treating season pass holder's with respect. Ski corporations should remember if not for the pass holders, a large off season revenue stream would not exist.

Matching the lift with the environment it serves.

For example, at Las Leñas, the Marte chair (which accesses the best terrain) is a 1983 double chair located in the windiest spot in the whole valley. It goes down in winds over 30 mph and/or when they run out of mate.

If there is a long walk required from the parking lot, either install pedestrian movers (like at the airport) or have a tractor pulling a sled, such as a courtesy shuttle.

Walking a far distance on pavement or dirt in ski boots is not fun.
