Had to bump this one- My roommate is a sushi chef and works at The Sushi Bar in the village @ Flatton and the dude kills it... I eat there just about every week and love it, fresh ingredients and great presentation. Lots of menu options, scorpion bowls and a ton of different kinds of sake. A friend of ours just posted this article to his FB and I had to share it- I'm pumped for my friend! His restaurant is #9! FUCK YEAH ANGUS! GET SOME!

My rec has got to be the crunchy spicy tuna bowl. It's sexual.

Mammoth lakes : Shogun, been there for awhile, and the spicy tuna salad is still awesome, including the robbie roll. They do awesome tempura, katsu, and teriyaki.
Bishop: Yamatani, make some awesome sushi, and suggest what is fresh!! Believe it's the old owner of Shogun. Ask to get the tempura chili's before you order your sushi.
Flagstaff, AZ. Sakura or Hiro's, awesome sushi for an Arizona mountain town!! They had their fresh fish flown in daily when I worked there, so it is what it is.Whoa, what you gotta say?? Whoa, girls turn 18 every day!!!

I seconded or third Masa in Teton Village. Kay walking around with sake doesn't hurt. Also have a fondness in my heart for the Matterhorn - good sushi and also seemed to find someone to try and hassle in pool or fooseball - not a bad combo.
Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.

I'm not sure if it's the best, but All-You-Can-Gorge sushi at Miki in Banff is a dangerous thing.
I almost couldn't finish. Almost.

second for Yamagoya in Fernie, seriously awesome sushi place especially for being in the interior. Quite reasonable priced and the staff rock."A lack of planning and preparation on your part does not make it an emergency on my part."

I've eaten at both Sushi Village, Samurai in Whistler and Yamagoya in Fernie numerous times, I would say Yamagoya is my favourite, but I'm biased as most of the staff are friends. And never mind the great sushi, it's the tuna tataki that's the best!
"if it's called tourist season, why can't we just shoot them?"

in whistler there is a small eat-in or take-out sushi place at creek side across the p-lot from boston pizza
All I remember is it was one of the cheapest meals you will find in whistler and I was drunk

Pace Stuntkok, but Otaru beats Sapporo like a red-headed stepchild when it comes to sushi/sashimi. Now actually AT a ski area? I'd have to go with Sencho2 at Hirafu, even if the service sucks.
