    You can buy the same waterproof Taylor in the first link for $8 from amazon or your megamart of choice. There's a range of similar waterproof thermometers, often cheaper than those linked. Some of them are recalibratable. Do check your thermometer for function regularly - quick and dirty is an ice bath - fill a pint glass with ice, add water. Wait a couple minutes, put in your thermometer. The bath should be 0C/32F and that's what your thermometer should read.
