Snow Forecast for Dec. 12-21st?
Anyone know where the Jet stream is heading for next week? I'm trying to plan out a ski trip somewhere on the west coast (BC, Wa, Cali, Utah, Wyoming, Montana). I live in Oregon and don't really want to stay here.
I want to hit up wherever there's going to be the most snow. This weather pattern is way too crazy for my very amateur forecasting abilities. I've looked at weather.com's 10-day forecasts from Revelstoke to Mammoth and in between and they all say that there's going to be snow, but somehow I doubt it can be snowing in BC, Oregon and Cali all at the same time.

El Nino
El Nino = Cali, up to three feet today, thats the likeliest spot for huge dumpage. Stay away from the NW. NOAA confirms my suspicions.

Do these forecasts mean that we're looking at rain for the mountains of Tahoe starting next week?

NOAA's forecast for Sunday at Squaw is 31 w/ snow, while weather.com says it will be 37 in S. Lake Tahoe. Then it gets warmer the next week down in the valley, so I would assume that would mean that would mean that the temp would rise above freezing on the mountain. Or is this incorrect?

Agreed
Learn to use the NOAA site, you can use the map to get point forecasts. Having never skied in California, I can only guess that it will be snowing.
