Where are these dopes? Maybe they just want to ski inbounds and occassionally go out, so the duke is a good product for them. Too obvious? Just because you and yeti apparently ski totally for image, doesn't mean everyone else does. Don't project your thoughts onto everyone else.

I like icy bumps better than skinning.

I like soft bumps better than icy bumps, and I like pow better than any bumps but not enough to get buried in a slide or spend hours XC skiing for one run of it.

    Hows that?

and you know as well as I do that a hell of a lot of people loved snowboarding in the 90s because it was so trendy and so much easier to progress at than skiing straight skis.

Hell - I tour mainly because I can't ski icy bumps anymore. Honest - I suck at it. I used to be pretty good, but then I got old. I'd much rather go ski some easy bc powder (in Silver Fork) when the inbounds get skied out. I just bought some Dukes a month ago too.

As long as this thread has mutated into a discussion of who's more deserving, I say all real skiers have to go back to Silvretta 404s and mountaineering boots or Ramer RATs with heavy alpine boots. That'd separate the posers from the real men. Too bad Yeti has my RATs

Skiski - untwist those panties already. Turn that frown upside down! <

    yeah re: RATS...
this is my big season to tour or not ski.

this is it. the only skiing I get here is fucking gay ass touring, I'm going to do it because it's skiing and I love to ski, but it's going to be like getting head from the prison shemale because if you're in prison it isn't gay.

I'm in this prison, and I'm going to pretend that touring here isn't lame. I'm going to be missing the lifts every single fucking step.

No. 404s were horrible. Pures are cheating. Do you like Piña coladas? And getting caught in the rain?

Yeti - I had no idea you were actually going to use those for actually touring. Now I kinda feel bad (actually). Then again, I used 'em right up until Fritschis came out. Still searching for that tape. I found Soldiers Under Command by Stryper - the white vinyl - and it still had the merchandise order form in the sleeve. I'm going to mail in for a bandana and a "no devil" button, then get really pissed when I get a return to sender.

I'm working way too much lately on shit that doesn't really interest me, so I'd rather do this . To boot, I have not even put on skis this year (except to go to bars and impress chicks with by old school non-touring mode telemark bindings). So, once again,

Anyway, it sounds like we've about got this wrapped up. Can we all check off on the following facts:

    1. Yeti is a tourist who skis only steep stuff under the lifts to impress other tourist, who will hopefully mistake him for a local
    2. Trackhead can't ski at all.
    3. Straightchuter is a commie
    4. you are a dick, and are apparently a lot older I would have guessed.
    5. Only fags are in favor of a lift in silver fork. (I don't mean gay fags. I mean "look at me" fags like the guys who ride loud motorcycles on south park)
    6. Skifishguy is apparently a huge pothead
    7. I'm a dick too.

    Fair enough?

but now those people love fat skis, so i can go back to being the quiet, pudgy kid no one talks to. maybe this fat ski trend will play out for Patrick though.

which is why i was careful to make sure I was putting down "look at me" fags and not gay fags by associating them with people who want a lift in silver fork. i may be a dick, but I;m not a bigot.

Okay if I use the Ramer classics instead of 404s?
Last time I skied Solitude it cost $5. Can't remember the icy bumps.
    I found these

feathers, today. Found some more buried under 10", resting onna crust.
It wasn't Solitude and it wasn't Silver Fork but...
    Oh yeah,

this, again. Cadillacs Out West. I call it ski touring, not x country but uh... I'm over 50.

That last one didn't do it?

It's on TV, just like hockey. Still called ski touring.

I prefer ski to the road, probably for the same reason I prefer snowboarding.

there really isn't access to the road in most places, plus no motorized access either, whence the slog.

when I was at school at fort we got a six foot dump over 2 days. Two snowboarders died in that storm something like 150ft down an embankment from their car. They rode in to the drainage to get to the car and the snow was 12-18ft deep.. Makes you think.
