Did I miss something. Do the new 9s have rocker? I thought the last version was just standard camber. Come on, if you want to throw spam in here, at least tell us what you are talking about so it is good spam

10/11 189 obSETHed day two review:

Revelstoke had crud, bumps, old pow, crust, and groomers.

GCHS had better pow and everything else except for groomers.

So far so good. Obviously much driftier than the DarkSide, but also more predictable in variable snow.

I mounted the rearmost NTN position at 0 and have tried them at 0 and +1, and I'm thinking for me the +1 is going to be where they stay.

I'm looking forward to some more days on them. I think these will be my daily driver from now on.

G3 is coming out with a new line that has a bit of titanal in it... they call it the "power series" and the skis are still fairly light.

    Manhattan
    139-108-128
    tip rocker
    175, 180, 185, 190cm
    8.6lb for the 180

    Fever
    132-100-123
    tip rocker
    177, 185, 192cm
    8.1lb for the 177

    Zest-T
    women's ski
    132-100-123
    tip rocker
    172 and 177cm

They also redesigned the Rapid Transit slightly and are calling it the Mass Transit, and made a women's version called the Jam. They also made a women's version of the Onyx called the Ruby, which as far as I can tell is just a different color and lower DIN, but the same weight, which seems pointless.

The tele bindings are the same shitty offerings as always.

I heard an interesting story about the Elan Boomerang a few weeks ago. From what I heard the design for that came directly from Mr. Hjorleifson himself and his instructions on how to set the molds for his Renegade.

I skied on a new volkl today. Its look like a Mantra but its has smaller dimensions It was nice, slightly quicker edge to edge than the Mantra but had that mantra feel.
anyone know what ski this is?

^^^ Isnt the Boomerang two seasons old? I also think it is a 190, not a 186. So I kind of doubt it is the same as the Renegade.

Sorry, he was talking about next years Boomerang. And it's not identical, but close enough that Eric was giving advice on mounting points.

Anyone have any further information on the Salomon Quest line? Last? Flex? What shell is it based off of or is it a totally new shell? Would love to hear more about these.

    "Elan Backcountry Freeride 2011

Friraydovaya Series Elan Summits (top) 2011

This is absolutely an update rule. New technologies, optimized rigidity and weight, shape preserving ...

What's new in the construction ...

    1. Resort Rocker: Rocker average ski sock with a slight positive deflection under ski boot. Designed for better handling and surfacing in various states of snow. Do not reduce the ability of skis Karvas on groomed slopes.

    2. Thin Alu Profile: unique design of dual Titanal provides an excellent mix of low longitudinal stiffness for surfacing in the Powder and high torsionki for groomed slopes and a hard crust.

    3. Channel Woodcore: a new core that reduces weight and reduces Skiing longitudinal stiffness.

    4. SST Sidewall: new sloping side walls are used with the same purpose - lower weight, softer ski.

    Now it is lyzhki 2011.

Elan Olympus Mons (a descendant of 1010) Double Titanal, Resort rocker + all of the above technologies. Sizes and radii: 176 (21.5) 183 (23.9) 190 (26.1). Geometry 140/110/130.

Elan Spire (descendant 999) Double Titanal, Resort rocker + all of the above technologies. Sizes and radii: 175 (21.8) 181 (23.0) 187 (24.2). Geometry 130/98/120.

    Elan Apex (descendant 888) Double Titanal + all of these technologies without Rocker. Sizes and radii: 159 (16.8) 168 (19.4) 177 (21.1) 186 (23.1). Geometry 128/88/108.

    Elan Denali (descendant 777) Fiberglass, Resort rocker + all of the above technologies. Sizes and radii: 152 (13.3) 160 (15.3) 168 (17.1) 176 (19.3) 184 (21.1). Geometry 116/77/100.

I looked at the Boomerang and Pogostiks. He recalled his feelings at them and realized that poke them in the Freestyle series as something illogical. This brilliant representatives Backcountry Freestyle. Live here

So. Meet! BC Rocker Profile. Full rocker toe and heel lightweight rocker with a very low bending the middle of the ski. Floating, soft prizemy, better handling on the steepest sections, the walls. Keeping in switches.

    Representatives:

Elan Boomerang. BC Rocker Profile, Laminated woodcore, SST Sidewalls, Fiberglass. Sizes and radii: 190 (27.7) Geometry: 130/140/120/130/120

Elan Pogo Sticks. BC Rocker Profile, Laminated woodcore, SST Sidewalls, Fiberglass. Sizes and radii: 168 (24.3) 175 (25.1) 182 (27.6) 187 (25.0) Geometry: 136/107/126 to 187 Sizes, 130/105/122 for 175 and 182 rstovki and 124/102/114 to 168 cm

hadn't heard about the elan olympus mons yet. sounds like a sick ski, knowing how damp a lot of their sticks are. maybe a touch to much sidecut for a true charger though, unless it's tapered (then it'd be perfect).
