H2O's for 2010
Hey, I'll chime in here since H2O's are new for 2009/10. I'm waiting for mine too. Keith said they should ship this week so it looks like many of his skis are back from getting dialed in.
So, I'm thinking real hard about mounting Dukes on my H2O's. I've never skinned before but want to give it a go this year. Might take a 4 day course. I'll still be doing mostly in-bounds and side-country skiing but thought that the Dukes might let me get a bit higher on the side. Not sure though about backcountrying something that big. Alternatively, I have some STH 16's I can slap on them and then just bootpack up higher. Opinions?
Anybody else beside me and Trainwreck skiing with these? I'll update my experiences here and also on Twitter (SkierHiker). Follow me if you're interested. I'm in Washington and we're getting dumped right now.Last edited by SkierHiker; 11-17-2009 at 01:34 AM.

Yes laster year was praxis crazy. I was really impressed on the quality of his skis. Like this...so cool

I tuned my freerides up, took a razor to the top sheets and they are still looking good. One of my favorite skis, i want to try the Jibs and BC.
Its a little sad to see his orders are down from last year, but maybe thats a good thing. Also it seems that he is going to get his skis out in a timely manner, so i would say looking good this year so far.
Now I just need my Pow's to ship...

I was on my mtn freerides at Alta last week. I never intended it to be my BC ski, but my actual Praxis BC's were late last year (WHICH WAS NOT A BIG DEAL FOR ME), so I put skins on the freerides. They turn out to be pretty good to skin with. I've yet to get skins for the BC's but I'll be doing that soon. Can't wait for the season to really get going and I've got some new Powder Boards coming. I have way too many skis now.

I picked up some BC's this summer. I was so stoked, as I had emailed Keith asking him if he could stiffen a pair up for me a bit over his posted 5 flex and a month later he emails me he made a few pairs of protos with carbon fiber to stiffen them up / more pop and I could buy a pair for $399

Hand flexing them they feel pretty stiff underfoot (flat camber) softening up a bit as you progress out to the tips. Likely more like a 7 underfoot to 6 in the tips. I think they are going to be money for freshies at Mammoth and hikes into the side country.

Just got a reply from Keith about the 196 Protests shipping out. Sounds like he has about 1/2 the batch done (those are the ones shipping out) and is waiting on more topsheets for the second.

Looks like there are only 5 skis listed on his site... Protest, H20, Pows, BC and RX. I wonder if he's stopping production of the other skis due to lack of volume.
I've always wanted to rip the freerides.

I'm stoked to check out the new bases.

I totally love my 189 Rx tro, they absolutely truck, but I find then a bit of a handful in tight dodgy trees. Tail rocker probably would have made them a bit turnier but in open spaces

Just waiting patiently for a pair of 188 protests.I don't work and I don't save, desperate women pay my way.

He told me in an email exchange about 6 weeks ago that he was only making the RX as a special order. I was sorta bummed because to me that seemed like a schweet pow ski that could still rip once things were tracked.

I will post picks of the 196 Protests when they arrive.... Very excited. Also have 190 Backcountrys on order. The two will be mounted with Dukes and comprise my inbounds setup this year.
Megawatts and Verdicts, each with Dynafits, as touring setup. Really pumped about the quiver this year.

They sold Im sure I will regret it.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.

My H2O's are shipping tomorrow and we're getting storm after storm after storm up here. I gotta now quickly decide on Dukes or STH 16's. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Factors. Talked to a local who skins with Megawatts, Dukes, and Factors. Says it works but is a bit heavy, definitely not for the long haul. I need a one quiver setup right now with emphasis on in-bound and sidecountry. Arg, decisions, decisions, decisions. Just wish I was rich enough to have it all.

I am a praxii devotee, and Keith is a great guy who is dedicated and a master of his craft. Stoked to add the new 205 Pows to the collection.

Just here to say Fat Yeti should regret selling those. I hand flexed his pair before he sold them, I also drooled on them. The BC's are sweet. Fat Yeti consistently makes the worst sell decisions on skis. The stuff he gets rid of honestly makes me sick.
Thanks Shane

My Protests arrived yesterday. Will post pics and all that stuff tomorrow night. Initial reaction: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I keep hand flexing them and they feel really close to my Thunders and Mythics (not noodles). I have convinced myself I am going to go nutty on them. I just need more snow to find out.
