    Leica M9

    should I do it? Always sort of saw myself as a Leica Man.

    You got $20k burning a hole in your pocket?

    Leicas are great cameras but the price is absurd. $7k for the M9 and $2-5k for a Leica lens or a bit less ($1-2k) for the Zeiss/Cosinas, even less ~$500 for the Voigtlander/Cosinas makes them the most expensive non MF system around. Rangefinders are great but not nearly as versatile as SLRs (but what they do they do better)

    A Leica Man is not concerned about price.

    Actually, you make a good point, the cost of entry is not just $7k. That is how I trick myself into buying shit, usually. That and annualizing the cost assuming I live to be 106.

    Yeah, unless you already have some Leica glass I wouldn't bother. Nice camera, tho.

    You could buy some used Leica lenses, but I bet with this camera coming out those will jump in price.
