Lockout on 2009 Revelation: Where to put it
I just got a new 2009 RS Revelation Fork. It comes with a remote handlebar mounted lockout. In the past, I have had lockouts mounted on the top of my Fox forks and never had any problem actuating it. I am thinking about upgrading my Revelation to a fork mount lockout to avoid handle bar clutter and to simplify. What are maggots experience with this, handle bar mounted lockouts vs fork mount in general, and for the Revelation in paticular?

i have an 06 (i think) revelation with lockout mounted on the fork. I dont find it hard to utilize, but then again i only lock it out while on pavement.
However, if my fork came with the remote lock-out i doubt id go through the trouble of changing it.

I've got a bar mount on my Revelation and fork top on my Lyric. The Lyric is more involved and not as simple as just throwing a lever on top of the forkleg so this may not be a valuable opinion, but for how convenient that lockout lever is on the bar, I would gladly take the extra cable clutter.
Depends on how much you use the lockout. I think if it was not as simple as the bar mount is to get at I would not use it as much, but with the rough XC we have here in North Van, Squamish, Whistler and many tech climbs mixed in I use it all the time. More times than not I am in situations where I can flip that bar switch and know that I could never have taken a hand off the bar to reach the fork leg, so for me it's an easy decision.
