VERTS snowshoes. Best bindings for ski boots?
What's the best set up for bindings on VERTS for ski boots?
I've got a set of blanks.

I love to throw a "Tech Talk, JONG!" to Daron Rahlves, but calling one of the world's best skiers a JONG would probably be ill-advised.

I'm interested in the answer to this question as well. Free bump.

Y'think?
In any event, I don't have any answers, but I might be able to narrow the issues.
Seems like you're looking to set up a DIN-soled boot to click into these. In which case, it seems like release values are relatively unimportant. You'd probably want the lightest thing you could lock down.41 days 2012-13

These

Voile mtn plates. They used to make some with the wires reversed-toe throw=heel. Give um a call.

Snowblade bindings.

i have been using them with the stock yellow straps for the past two seasons. Once setup properly, they work fine with ski boots. Only issue is to make sure you use lock tight on the hardware as it tends to come loose. i couldn't see putting any other binding on there for the serious weight penalty.
oh yeah, tech talk, jong.

Wow, I can't believe there are skiers that actually use these. I always got the feeling skiers had some sort of stigma against them cuz they're associated w/ knuckle draggers.
I have lots of snowboard friends I can't convince to use them.
They are money for sure. I almost never leave home w/out them when in the big mnts and I've passed many a skier wallowing up to their waists as I cruise by barely breaking a sweat.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll go with the stock straps first. D

Oh wow, I just noticed who OP was

Awesome! Hope you enjoy them. If the stock straps work for your ski boots you'll be saving weight in the long run since they weigh nothing. The stock straps seem cheesy but I've been using same pair for 10 years and they've held up fine.

btw just looked those up, how do they work? reasonable option for short to medium tours/hikes (i know they won't be as fast as skinning, but for some stuff in LCC, how would these be)?

If you want to boot steep and deep they are the tool of choice for locals in Valdez. I have only seen what I assume are stock straps in use, no problems.

considering you can skin to most of the lcc lines often in a preset skin track, it would be more ideal to use the skin track to get to the top.
these are sick for setting the boot pack out of a large open space. if you set the boot pack up the y with them or a tight couloir you might find yourself annoyed dealing with the massive trench in the middle of your ski descent. they are for sure worth picking a pair up though for 75 dollars.

Last season in White Pass near Skagway we climbed a couloir that had....difficult snow conditions. The top of the couloir was measured at 70 degrees. I would've killed for a pair of verts then.
Where are you guys getting them? I was gonna fabricate some cos they're hard to find.

From the depths, was reminiscing about booting up deep powder and remembered I wanted to try verts. Three thing is all they come with nowadays is snowboard binding mounting plate, gone are the straps. Anybody rigged up the new ones for ski boots?
But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer

An old thread.
As of last season everyone has been putting Plums on their VERTS.
Everyone.
Without brakes.
