Anyone know of a 2/3brm in Idaho Springs/Empire/ Georgetown?

So this is probably the wrong forum for this, but I don't really know where to put it.

A few friends and I are looking for a place somewhere along I-70 for a cheap weekend ski cabin. Basically a place where we can post up for the weekend and be close(r) to the resorts and get out the Denver shithole.

Ideally we are looking for something like the sweet single wide trailers that you see in Idaho Springs/Georgetown/Empire, but it seems like these sort of places are usually owned not rented (may be wrong on this one). We also would love to be near whatever the most dirtbag bar in those towns is, and if the place had some sort of stuffed animal heads on the walls that would just be an added bonus. Furniture not needed.

I'm having a tough time finding any info on rentals in the area, and figured that the CO mags might have a line on a place, and/or might know of websites that advertise for these specific locals.

We would love to find a place for around 700/month since we are all dirtbag grad students w/ no money. It doesn''t have to be nice, but we also don't really want to sign a 12month lease. Anyways, might be a pipe dream, but I figured I would keep pluggin away since I really want it to happen.

Idaho Springs/Empire is only 25-30 minutes from Denver and is on the wrong side of the I-70 closures when there are hudge storms. Do you really want to spend $700 for that?

Hmmm...any other dirtbag towns you would recommend closer to the resorts? I know nothing about towns up in the mountains, but I do know that I hate doing the entire I-70 commute every day I want to ski.

Buy a 4x4 RV and drive up before the storm.

For that price, you wouldn't be far off from renting a lock-off here in the Vail Valley and would be no more than 10 minutes from the lift (rental prices have dropped in the last 6 months). Why spend $700 a month to still be at least 20 minutes from Loveland, and an hour from any other place?

forgive the retard questino, but what is a lock-off?

We are totally open to any suggestions. We are all in grad school and get super tired of studying/hanging out in denver so we are looking for anywhere to just get away for the weekend.

The caveat is that we want to be within 45min of at leas Abasin since most of my buddies aren't into touring, but all have the CO pass.

As far as the RV idea goes, not really looking to buy anything, plus we would like to be able to cram a few extra people in there on any given weekend.

We stopped off in idaho springs after skiing on thurs and grabbed their local paper. Found a couple intersting prospects in Empire, but like I said, I am totally open to suggestions. Any other cool dirtbag towns to be looking at further up 70?

What state do you think you're in? The dirtbags left a while ago.

Just get a place in Summit.
