Silverton Closing the Most Dangerous Runs

Word has it from their website that Silverton is removing the most challenging runs from their repetoire: the brown van is being supplanted by 2 new busses with seats, one a 45 seater and another a 50 seater. So no more sliding around in the back of a dark van choking on the emissions from somebody's undercooked bean burrito.

Is this an appropriate monetization of karma? You decide.

With increased capacity, unguided should be super sweet with no more shuttle delays.

Bootpacking dates are Dec 5,6, 12,13 with a 1 fer policy this year. You gots to bring or rent the limited usuals (pack probe beacon shovel). Duct tape or tweedy Mountaineer grade gaiters are recommended for the stompfest.

Also in the spotlight for the Silverton area are:
    Mountain Goat Ski Guides:
Tour with the best in the area: Mike Barton and Co with options in the Red Mountain Pass and St. Paul Lodge.

    mountaingoat115@yahoo.com

Treasure Mountain Hut : A choice pad up toward Picayune Gulch with killer skiing hosted by Stan Da Man. Several very cool access mechanisms may be available. Inquire of the proprieters.

So there's a lot of resources to build a cool, gaper free ski vacation in Silverton.

    That's all beoyotchez.

For someone who lives in Boston, you post more about Colorado than 99% of Coloradans.

Now, where did you hear they are "closing the most dangerous runs?" That doesn't sound like Silverton.

Suumit was born and raised in the mountains of CO ,
anyone else remarking upon any section of it deserves his wrath...
especially someone with the recognizable Massholeness Buster shows in all his TRs of eastcoast skiing.

C'mon. We all know Buster is from Ohio. Or Alabama. Mostly for the awesomely consistently pitch and snow conditions.

Laziness may explain why you didn't read the post and cockiness may explain why you felt qualified to comment on it anyways.

But I'll be damned if I can understand what led you to accuse Buster of being from Boston after seven fucking years of posting on the same website.

Colorado is the center of the universe, everything else is simply known as "Boston"???

    This thread is funny.

Glad I had the chance to ride in the death van. Metal floors and ski boots, oh my!
