Has anyone been up high at BP recently? With how strong the wind is coming out of the NW, was thinking Oatmeal Bowl would be a good bet in the near future - pretty low consequence and super easy to lap.

It was pretty calm up high on Wed. Today started calm but a steady NW wind picked up after about 2pm. It was enough to erase the skin tracks up high.

If we're referring to the same thing, it's 25-26* of 480 vert judging on a topo map.

The bottom part of Oatmeal is lower angle, but depending on windload the upper part slides as well as the lower part is exposed to slides from above.

I was up yesterday and noticed several tracks coming down the south shoulder of Oatmeal Bowl. They stayed basically on the ridge and were pretty low angle. It looked like it might have been decent.

If I were going up again soon, I would head that way. Do you start at pump house pick up or do you climb the continental divide trail and stay on the ridge all the way over?

Probably best to start from Pumphouse - seems to be about half the distance, you have a better chance avoiding the wind, and get a chance to observe the snow on the bootpack up the final stretch.

Winds are looking brutal tomorrow (with a shift from the w/sw) so it may end up being one big crapshoot.

Those we're probably our tracks that you saw. Skied that ridge on Sunday. It wasn't that great, mostly a bunch of breakable crust. Pretty much all of Pumphouse Basin looked boney. Bring the rock skis if you're heading out that way.
