TR: Highwood Pass Oct 4, 2009!!!
Well, yes, it snowed... guess what we seem obliged to do when it does that!
Highwood pass: The best turns of the day were had in the car on the approach as we had to slalom around the wildlife!
Our fearless athletes! Mntlion and his buddy Mike!

Well not so much fearless, they had to visit the little boys guard rail before they could start the climb!
But first, stability tests!

How was the stability? From my armchair it looks kinda of iffy.

Eldo... stability was a bit sketchy... I got a CTE down 3 cm on stellars... in a 6 cm snowpack that makes the hazard pretty high!!! BUT on a positive note... no depth hoar!!!

The stability test made me laugh my ass off. Thanks for that.
After we came out of Rae we took a drive up to the pass proper parking lot to see if you guys were there but the place was deserted when we got up there.

Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.

Rae was...interesting??? We were able to skin from the PK and when we got up there it was at times at least 2 feet but not enough snow to link a hole lot a turns.
Still good to get the skis back on.
