I'll be up at Crystal tomorrow. On Praxis probably, with a silver helmet, brown jacket and dark blue pants.

Interestingly, the groomers packed to an ice-like consistency by noon-ish. I thought Daisy was nastier & more hazardous (esp factoring in moving & semi-moving objects) than 7th, etc. had been at the opening. Go figure.
    Damn.

Now I'm really starting to think about heading north of the border...

I'm thinking pontoons would have been good today, not so much moving forward...Shit'll be skied out and if it gets colder...death cookies galore

I'd ski the small skis at stevens until we get more snow...the disclaimer being that I am a gaper

I skied Stevens on wednesday, billygoated all over the place and hit no rocks. I was on demo EP pro's and was confident that things were solid. bring your lhasa's

Stevens was damn good today. Pow was still pretty soft on the frontside. Peanut butter on the back.

What's Steven's gonna be like Sunday? I know, I looked at the weather, I just don't have enough experience going up there to make the call.

^ Right now it's raining, 33/37 degrees base/top. The snow yesterday was like cream of wheat so today it is probably wet cement. As long as that stuff doesn't freeze solid and/or there is enough new to bury the chunky leftovers then it could be ok.

Game day call. The Stevens snow report is pretty honest, if it says powder or soft snow it should be fun, variable or mixed is code for crap.

Thanks! I leave headlamps in the tents. In the one with Mt. Rainier I strobed my flash about 10 times then went back to sleep

those are some sweet shots benk.

I decided that skiing in the rain on stupid heavy snow isnt that much fun, so no stevens today.

Why did the colder air part around stevens to head north to Baker and south to xstal?

The next 4 days is something I have been waiting for all year. Big storm and time off. Though I'm kind of bummed I don't have a Meadows pass this year.
