155 SL skis with hammerheads, huh?
Do you really enjoy skiing that? What's the radius on those bad boys??
Also, what do you think of the Odas? would love to hear a comparison to some similar shapes if you've skied any...

^^Lookin' good, dude.
I really want to try those C&Ds. That rocker profile looks $$$. And we need to get out touring soon."Alpine rock and steep, deep powder are what I seek, and I will always find solace there." - Bean Bowers

Oh yeah I ski the SL/HH combo. It's mildly terrifying, but ripping 9m carves on tele is a hell of a feeling.
As for the Odas, this is my first RR ski, so I can't say much in comparison, sadly. However, I can say that they're relatively light, have really slow swing weight, float wonderfully, and are really well built. I think the length may be a turn off to most (185), but for my 5'5" they work well. Only one day on them so far, so that also sucks.

Holy shit those are badass! Must weigh a ton? Where do those fit in your quiv?
-

nope, they weigh a handsome 4.4kg a pair, which is exactly 500g or a little more than a pound lighter than my lp105s in 192. the despringed 920s on there pulls the weight up somewhat, but not bad at all!
I asked parris to make them somewhat light while still damp, and i kinda hoped they wouldnt weigh a lot more than 5-5.5kg. i asked him how the hell he pulled it off, but havent the answer to that yet. plenty stiff in the flat camber and gradually softening to a softer nose and a slightly softer tail, so my only guess would be that the elm veneer topsheet cuts a bunch of weight compared to plastic, and that he used some sort of light and stiff fiber.could be carbon.
cant wait to ski them!
as regarding their spot in my quiver, they are for bigger lines and landing shit in them. theyll need speed, is my idea. other boards in my quiver are the aforementioned pro rider 105 192s, everyday skis, faction thirteen 194s for shit stuff and mounting experiments, an iggy reverse/reverse/convex snowboard 175 for lower angle super deep stuff, and a never summer heritage 162 for park stuff.
a proper quiver pic is coming in the future.

I am a short guy (5' 7").....so the 185cm is perfect (it definitely skis longer and feels longer (is more there?) than my 185 JJs did but it does not ski long for a 185.)
I think this ski could do with a 190cm+ version....kind of like how everyone kept wanting a Line Opus bigger than 185.
PS - my 15 year son who is 5'5" and weighs 120 lbs demoed the 175 Lib FF5s and ripped the whole mountain on them.
Lib does a 191 NAS Pow....so maybe?_________________________________________________

KC, I am 6'4" and 205 lbs so I am a 190+ kind of guy... And it is funny you should mention the Opus as I am the proud owner of the 192 Mr. Pollard Opus... My quiver is the 191 ON3P Wren and BillyGoat, 186 ON3P Vicik (extra carbon), 187 Movement Thunder and 187 Stockli XXL... I have always loved burly, traditional mount, stiff skis and was never into center mounted jibby skis... For shits and grins I demod the Opus last year and loved it and when the rep told me they were making it in a 192 I pre-ordered on the spot... Love the ski and it will be nice to not have to be on all the time... I skiied the 191 NAS POW and liked it a lot, but usually for a POW ski I dig a chargy 5 point design (ie - BillyGoat)... If the FF5 is made in 191+ next year this cat will be adding that to the line up...

Hey Undertow,
I used to own the 185 Mr. Pollards Opus (white version), loved it, just a bit soft in Baker's dense snow.
I often describe the Lib FF5 as a more burly, stiffer Opus. Super playful with the 5 point design. It is great in pow and super fun to hit all Bakers little hits and knolls etc. But I can carry more speed in variable snow on the FF5 than I could on the Opus.
Funny, my next ski I want in my quiver is a more traditional style....ie no rocker = flat tail , some rocker in the tip, lots of camber underfoot, ie a Moment Jag Shark to complement the FF5 and the Hoji.
PS - I posted a review of the FF5 here in tech talk:

^^Think you need to write a Ren vs Bibby vs W112 review thread.

Explosivs from a rental place in Zermatt, K2 Two 88's off ebay uk - nos and 165 Mutix's bought new. Not even entertained long arms on them as I see it being pointless. Great ski, heavy but ruddy good.
