Green, blah, too cool for me. I'm more into the racing blue.

Hmm, not what I remember at all from my days at Crystal. I still manage to find a rock or two when I visit each Dec/Jan.

Could just be my personal experience, though I've been up here awhile now (4 years @ Crystal, 6 years @ Hood, 5 years of running a 20-40 pair demo fleet mostly in the PNW). I just haven't seen a ton of base damage since I've been up here. I certainly remember fixing my bases a lot more when I was younger in CO, and when we do see base damage on our demo fleet it is usually caused in UT, MT, WY, or CO.
You definitely hit some rocks up here, I just think it happens far less than in many other parts of the country.Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

Wall art typically stays in good shape in my experience...but I've been lucky to avoid any serious damage to any of my skis. And yes, they are all in used and in constant rotation if conditions are appropriate. The Vicik's are the worst off however, there are some decent base gouges from rock hunting during early season tours, none of which I have found the need to fill. I don't know that ptex would be necessary as they aren't that bad in my opinion.

Must be photo resolution then - can't see it at all. Yeah, don't fill it unless its relatively deep (hard to get the deep stuff with the bases they use). Can just slow the ski down.

I haven't decided if I should keep the Kusalas or the Billygoats yet as my main powder ski. Need another season to figure out which ski stomps better, but I'm pretty sure it's the Kusalas. Hard to tell since the snow conditions changed by the time I got on them in late March, but the reverse camber and extra stiff flex seems to correct for off balance landings really well - much more so than the Billygoats. I seem to land a LOT more perfectly balanced on them, almost like magic.Last edited by Lindahl; 06-17-2014 at 09:46 PM.

^ Oh ya, you will be stoked. Grab some 107s for when the conditions aren't as forgiving and you can get rid of all those other skis. And for the love of god put some Pivots on the 127s.

The Lokens are awesome skis. They're my go-to dailys, along with the 112RP. Only thing that has ever caught them up is on ice, but that could also be attributed to early season weak legs. They do awesome GS turns on groomers and in soft snow you can really mach down a run. Not going to ski like a big stiff metal beast, but I like them more than Gotamas I've demoed before.
The Skevik guys are great to work with, too, for what that's worth.

cstefanic: I'm lusting after the 179 Bros! Pure carbon or hybrids? Anything you can say about their performance on firm steeps? Do you have the full reverse or the regular rocker profile (picture please, if you have time)?

I got them out of splat's sale https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...Bro-Model-Blem which has some good pics. Only a few short days on them of summer suncups so can't say much, but what little they've shown they are going to be awesome.
