I plan on putting inserts for Sollys into the MX98s and Lotus138s, inserts for Plums into the Wailers, and Sollyfit Plates on the Lhasa Pow and Lotus 120.

or should I put plates on the 138 as well? (input from people who have slackcountryed on them? they 4.25# each!?!).

^^^^Don't plate the 138s and the 120s. That's overlap. Is there any situation you'd be touring and prefer the 138s over the 120s? Plate one, insert the other.

Sick quiver btw. Someone loves them some carbon fiber.

    good thinking.
    120 w/ plates; 138 w/ inserts.

i spent a season on 138s with plates, touring almost daily. Takes a little getting used too but manageable, biggest complaint is when the skintrack isnt set wide enough but thats becoming less and less of an issue. And there will be days when, if you had a choice, you would want your 138s over 120s.

I toured all last season on 138s and plums. I toured when the snow was good though.
I went inserts on my 138s, but the last pair I had, I used sollyfits - I don't see much difference besides the weight.

    This years line up...

186 Lhasa Pow Carbon Pures [Tyrolia Demos]
186 Lhasa Pow Hybribs [Barons/Jester Demos]
    183 Bro Fats [Barons/Tyrolia Demos]
    183 Bro [Dynafit/Jester Demos planned]

Still need to drop inserts in the 183s...
Wasn't planning on the 183 Fats.. they just dropped in my lap.. complete with inserts for binders (Barons/Tyrolias) I already had @ my BSL.. to whatsupdoc
As for the Carbon Lhasas... I haven't skied them yet since grabbing them this summer from Pat.. but I reckon they'll be very much like a '67 427/435 Vette Roadster.. prolly not the daily driver.. but scary fun when fired up & rolled outta the garage

    8 inches @ Baker today!

Yeah man couldn't pass up the nice deal from Bird Blaster (thanks) and was always super curious about these. I was a kind of worried they would flex a little wimpy compared to the Garbones and Comi, and while their nowhere near the bones (not much is) they have a really sweet poppy medium hand flex that feels just a tad softer than the Comi. So not a brainless charger, but by no means a noodle. Psyched to see how they fit in the mix. Protests will have to wait until next year, need more time to figure out the ultimate custom topsheet

Yes, the problem you have is how to choose what skis you're going to take out on a given day. So many options!

I think the only problem is that your quiver pic need to be rotated 90 degrees.

how do you justify having both the bibbys and rens? i've got bibbys but have also been lusting after some rens. can you give me a reason to buy both?

I had the Rens last year and loved them. I bought them for my AK trip (ended up loosing one and this is the replacement). My only issue was I didn't like the crud performance once things got tracked up at the resort. From the reviews I read on the Bibby it sounded like the crud performance is really good (for Mammoth). I also sold my Lhasa's and wanted to fill the gap. I had read so many good things about the Bibby I wanted to give it a shot. I also liked the idea of camber underfoot for the resort. I went back and forth on the overlap issue but decided to give them a shot. Will post up a review once I get some days on them.

Here is my lineup for 2013. Not too shabby, but it helps that on a monoski I only need one ski. A little cheaper that way with the right friends (or that I have broken one of the pair in eggbeaters while learning to ski again...).
