Hey, thanks for the replies. My quiver looks meager next to El Chub's, though! I've been on K2s for a long time: before the Hardside, I was on a pair of Seth Vicious...and before that I was in middle school! So this season should be awesome. Unfortunately, I tore my hamstring about six weeks ago - it turns out I'm still compensating in an odd way from playing (soccer, skiing, climbing, etc) for four years on messed up hip before I had surgery. I hope that once we get the hip back where it should be, the hamstring issues will melt away and I'll be good to go for the rest of the season!
But I think the biggest addition to my "quiver" is:
I feel like a broken record, but I'm so stoked for this season! Told my boss when I accepted the job that I wanted some serious time off this winter, so I hope to make it out to Montana, Jackson Hole, interior BC, etc.
I'd like to get on some other skis too (PB&J, Bibby, Pillowfight, AK JJ, Protest, W99, etc), so if anybody is in the Seattle area and wants to swap for a few runs at some point, let me know."Alpine rock and steep, deep powder are what I seek, and I will always find solace there." - Bean Bowers

auvgeek, have you tried the 138's yet? I'm excited to hear your opinion on them.

Nah, I messed up my hamstring (see my post above for details). Will definitely let you know what I think after I have some time on them. I don't have that I can compare them to, but my buddy has some 196 Protests, so that (and the L120) should be helpful in providing a baseline. I'm so excited! Anyway, if I make it down to SLC on a road trip, you're more than welcome to play on any of the skis I bring with me. I'd like to get on the BG and W112 back-to-back to see how different they are.
BTW, did you end up finding a pair of Cochise? I thought I remember you saying you got the Bodacious cuz you couldn't find the Cochise??"Alpine rock and steep, deep powder are what I seek, and I will always find solace there." - Bean Bowers

I think I was confused on the names when we talked. I actually bought Cochises in the first place. Skied them for the first time a few days ago (inbounds) and loved them. They're plenty stiff with intuitions for my tastes. My only concern is that the size 27 shell might be a wee bit too big. I was getting a little bit of toe bang on icy mini-hucks. Hope I don't have to size down, but we'll see. Definitely let me know if you're SLC bound- we got a place for you to stay if you need it. Heal quick and get on the big sticks!

Sure, I'll play:
NAS and Bro by Brian.M.K, on Flickr
176 NAS Freerides
186 Lhasa Pows
I never rode the NAS last season so they are sold.
So, not much of a quiver, I guess.

^^ Nice setup CA! Those factions look like they'd be a great everyday resort shape. Too bad the local conditions are more suitable for the green ones at the bottom so far this season.

Thanks!
The 4fnts are a bit more happy in Alberta bumps than the Factions, but they're great at KH.
FWIW, I had the big red Elans out at Norquay on Thursday. While they weren't ideal for the conditions, they weren't that bad either. I think I was able to make one turn.
