Warren Miller Entertainment Suing Level 1 Productions
Warren Miller Entertainment, Inc. is suing Level 1 Productions for trademark infringement. What this means, is that Warren Miller narrated part of Level 1's latest film, Refresh. While I haven't seen it for myself, yet, I do trust the persons of Mike Rogge and Pippin Lee on Newschoolers enough to believe it. And besides, here's the link to a real website, with real information. http://www.rfcexpress.com/lawsuit.asp?id=50534. WME has crossed a line which skiers should not stand for. There have, on Newschoolers, already been suggestions of a boycott of WME. After all, Warren Miller himself is no longer associated with the company, and although they are always fun to watch, I'm always happier to see a PBP, MSP, or TGR film, anyday.
Just wanted to make sure you are aware... and as for this being my first post, I hope that doesn't count against me as much as it would on NS. I do understand I have placed myself in a precarious position by mentioning my membership on NS, as is...
Either way. The issue of WME suing Level1 needs to be known among all skiers, so let it be known on TGR!

I actually heard of this as it was breaking due to being at the bar with rogge right after his ski show on a local btv radio broadcast.
WME has sued for infringement even though Warren himself is now a completely seperate entity.http://coldsmokechronicles.blogspot.com

I've already been boycotting WME for sucking. I guess I'll just keep it up as planned.

So, Warren agrees to narrate a little schtick for a segment and the company (level 1) gets sued by (presumable) his former entity controlled by his son?
If that's the case, that's sad.Last edited by trainnvain; 09-23-2009 at 07:02 AM.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I got out of bed wondering what I could do about the genocide in Darfur. But this! Well, this changes everything!

When I see crap like this it makes me want to return the favor and sue WME because their poster/dvd cover last year was a shot of TJ Schiller airing in front of a sunset from an exclusive MSP shoot from the year before. That's how out of touch they are. "Ooh, there's a nice photo! So what if we don't have a single moment in our movie like it. Let's use it!"
Good luck Level 1.or don't

Wow. I can't imagine that doing anything good for the Warren Miller Entertainment(WME). Even though people don't realize Warren the man is no longer associated with WME , because he does not like them, it is a great thing for WME. WME should actually have paid Level 1 to have Warren narrate. I have not seen the movie so I do not know if it is a rip against WME. Assuming it is not, having the WME brand endorsed in this way with the narration by a young and hip company is great for them. Hopefully they wake up. At the very least they will learn the power of the internet.
