Name that movie (SR)
Pre-Jong Disclaimer: I did have this listed in the movies section. For two weeks nobody has come up with an answer. Someone out there has seen this.
Back when I lived in Aspen, I was watching some late night on the public station. They had this foreign ski flick on that was the sickest ski flick ever. Picture this: not a lot of talking--just music, the skiers all had crazy costumes, capes and masks on, set in Europe, and the best part...rowdy tricks like backs over train gaps, huuuge sick bird cliffs, double backs and fronts, etc. I could tell the movie was pretty old (circa 1997), so these euros were doing stuff back then that we are reading about in Powder today. I watched the credits looking for a name, but all I could understand was that it was filmed in Valles de Arcs.
I went to the local TV station and asked them if I could get a copy and they had no idea what I was talking about. I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has seen this movie or knows what I'm talking about let me know so I can google it and get myself a copy.Last edited by huck4bucks; 09-17-2004 at 02:59 PM.

I lived in Summit County 90-93.There was this place that I picked up mexi food from regularly, that always had some crazy ski movie like that on.There were guys in cowboy outfits chasing guys dressed like indians ,throwing big back layouts over trains, hucking cliffs, freaks on monoboards you name it.It was like th old keystone cops movies on skis, slap stick, but these guys threw down as well. Are you sure that movie isn't much older like 87-90?I always laughed while waiting for my food. There seemed to be a lot of footage, maybe there is a series of those crazy films.
Try writing an old schooler like Greg Stump or Mike Hattrip & see if they know what movie you're talking about.
Hey don't knock the sanitarium in Glenwood,if it was good enough for Doc Holiday,It's probably good enough for you as well!Last edited by freshie247; 09-17-2004 at 05:16 PM.
