    Obama tracking lower than Carter

Since WWII only Clinton and Ford tracked lower after 6 months. Ford pardoned Nixon and Clinton was dealing with Hilarycare.

He's also very similar to Ronny's ratings at this time in his presidency. Interesting graph though.

Like I've said - give the guy some time! He's only been in office for 6 months!

    Ha... if anyone reads the whole article they'd see your post is a one sided view of it... here's a quick snippet to show only a fraction what DT has skipped;

Barack Obama, who completed six months in office Monday, has a 55% approval rating in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, putting him 10th among the dozen presidents who have served since World War II at this point in their tenures.

That's not as bad for Obama as it may sound: The six-month mark hasn't proved to be a particularly good indicator of how a president ultimately will fare.

What are you takling about. I said Clinton and Ford were lower and why. That makes Obama 10th out of 12. What else do you want me to do? Hold your pee pee while you take a piss?

Did they all have to deal with the second worst economy in the 20th Century? No? OK then

Nice to see that there were only two Presidents whose numbers improved between inauguration and leaving office: Ronny Raygun and Bubba Clinton. One lied 20something times about breaking the law of the land and arming terrorists, the other about a blow job.

Well, you could address the point Tim highlighted in green. Or, you could discuss your view of the significance of presidential approval ratings. Do you put much stock in them as a meaningful assessment of presidential performance? (I don't.)

    What "lies?"

-Whitewater (the transaction) lost money and the Clintons involvement was never deemed illegal in a court of law.
-The Travel office thing was a tempest in a teapot - staffers fucking up more than anything else.
-So you're saying he did try to go after Al Qaeda and he shouldn't have. Got it.
-"Chinese" campaign contributions... check out what happened before, during, or since and who got what. Also nothing illegal there.
-"Read my lips..." Give me a break. Your & my tax burden was no worse under Clinton than it was under Bush I, and it was less than it was under Reagan. You're old enough to remember that.
-How you liking that COBRA these days? Maybe we should be blaming Newt and Co. for our current healthcare mess, since their argument in shooting it down was the same it is now from the retarded Right: There's no problem to "fix."

You really don't want to go Tit for Tat on Reagan's "accomplishments," do you? I recommend you "Just Say No."

Leaving out half the facts or twisting them around doesn't help.

2010 will be bad for the Dems. 2012 will be an absolute bloodbath. I just hope that when 2012 comes along it's Mitt and not Sarah.

Me neither. But any bad news for Obama is good news for me. I did think the historical perspective was somewhat interesting and would make good fodder for a pissing match.
Actually lower polls take quite a bit of momentum out of a presidents agenda so it does matter.

I didn't read the article so I am making an assumption... So am I reading this statement wrong? His approval rating is ranked 10th out of the past 12 presidents in the first 6 months of office? I understand the pussification of America like not sitting kids in little league so they can all play, winning isn't everything it is how you play the game, etc. But, 10th out of 12 is pretty shitty.

    Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics.

Most went down, most went down more. Some went up just to fall, and even Jack Kennedy lost popularity over his term.

I'm not sure wtf I'm supposed to read into this regarding what's going to happen.

Sounds like even the dems want more action and fewer empty statements.

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/07/...orm/index.html

"We appreciate the rhetoric and his willingness to ratchet up the pressure but what most Democrats on the Hill are looking for is for the president to weigh in and make decisions on outstanding issues," the senior Democratic congressional source said.

"Instead of sending out his people and saying the president isn't ruling anything out, members would like a little bit of clarity on what he would support -- especially on how to pay for his health reform bill," the source added.

Why the fuck wouldn't JFK go down? He screwed up everything in office when he got there peaking with the Bay of Pigs. About the only thing he did right was resolving the Cuban Missile Crisis and even that many say was brought on by him being such a pussy.
