    Calder

Today I saw a Calder exhibit, of his early parisian works.
    His wire sculputures are amazing.
Photos were not permitted but I managed to get this shot.

Saw the touring exibit a few years ago and yes, I preferred the Wire sculptures to the mobiles as well. We do have two nice mobiles that live here in DC, however:

"Untitled" - National Gallery of Art East Wing, his last large work

"Mountains and Clouds" - Senate Hart Office Building

Whole bunch of stuff at the Hirschorn Gallery too: http://hirshhorn.si.edu/search.asp?s...ch_advanced=GO
