apparently no nonstops from seattle, which sucks. 8.5 hour flight time is a bit much.

Tis true...I subscribed to that theory out of NYC for the last few years - flying direct to SLC is easier then driving to VT for the weekend. And it's economically not that far off either (for city folk who don't need to own a car...).
But I'm moving to UT full time in the fall...which is even better I'd imagine...

Last time I checked, travel information for ski destinations 100% belongs in a ski forum. Especially for the EC.
Keep an eye on Southwest for deals too. They just had a $30, $60, $90 each way sale for travel up up to 400 miles, 400-750, and 750+, respectively. (I found out about it too late.) Hopefully another sale will come across for ski season.Last edited by BestofShow; 07-09-2009 at 08:22 AM.

The best part is that this will put some pressure on Delta to lower fares as well.

Always wondered about the Mammoth Service.
LAX SUCKS for a connector. and they don't seem to get the Traffic
I would suggest SWA from Las Vegas to Mammoth
RENO to Mammoth ?
SAC to Mammoth ?

Get real, Southwest wants to make money! Mammoth doesn't fit their model.
Mammoth's market IS LA!
But most people can drive to Mammoth easier than to LAX and hassling with TSA. Some smart guy must have been shooting for the Redondo/Manhattan beach crowd? I'll bet he's looking for a job.
No regular air service is going to make money into Mammoth without huge subsidies. I would doubt Mammoth has any service after this year.

I am stoked for this fo sho...
until I checked the prices, and no direct flight. United is actually cheaper roundtrip from Denver to Boston.Last edited by PowTron; 07-10-2009 at 01:40 PM.

Actually no subsidies got paid out last year, the route made money and averaged being about 75% booked, starting next december Horizon will be having 2 flights a day to and from LAX, and one from San Jose, they may possibly also offer one from Reno for a Seattle-Reno-Mammoth Route. United is in talks for an SFO-Mammoth route. But these are all small planes, no 737's like southwest operates.
