The ton of things he's crushing it on
Rideit,
In Rubi's recently deleted thread you mentioned the ton of things BHO is crushing it on, Could you please elaborate?
Perhaps its my tainted eyes, but I'll admit I'm having trouble finding one thing he's crushing it on, sans of course the economy, foreign relations, keeping his campaign promises, etc.does anyone still enjoy riding inbounds?

The joke is on you for thinking that some weird sub-forum on a skiing site would be relevant in any way to changing anyone's mind regarding political ideology...(I came to my senses a while ago)
Rube, Adolph, DBT, DBS, etc, still think they might evangelize, but let's all face the truth.
The reality is that we all have our notions, and reading any dissenting opinion on thissahere fo-rum ain't gonna sway that.
In the interim, however, I do know that 99.2% of do love a good burrito.
And that is one unassailable truth that we ALL can agree upon.

Stronger-Beginning to reestablish our image around the world as a leader and cleaning up previous foreign policy nightmares.
More United-For better or worse, strengthening the federal gov't over states (this has been the trend for many decades and he's continuing it)
Fiscally responsible-Taking bold action in the hopes of fixing a major problem that he inherited. Realization that it will take some major sacrifice including higher taxes and debt to correct this ship. A change of culture in regards to changing things structurally for the long haul rather than just political expedience.
He has probably the fourth biggest mess to clean up in our history. Whether he's successful is yet to be seen. And yes I can find plenty of things I disagree with. No question. And even things he promised to do and has reversed course on. But I knew I was voting for a pragmatist.Goals for the season: -Try and pick up a sponsor.--Phill

You must be joking. The US is the friggin' laughing stock.
Tim Geithner got practically laughed off the stage in China earlier this month when he spoke at a university over there and tried to tell the Chinese students about the strong dollar and how they should have faith in it.
And this week there were meetings being held Monday and Tuesday in Yekaterinburg, Russia, (formerly Sverdlovsk) among Chinese President Hu Jintao, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and other top officials of the six-nation Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The United States, which asked to attend, was denied admittance.
That's some "Change" all right."The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."

Why are we the laughing stock? Does it have to do with Obama or the recent past prior to 1/20/2009? You know the answer.
And someone in China must think the dollar is strong. You do realize that our ability to carry a trade deficit is because of foreign markets craving Dollars? And China leads the pack.Goals for the season: -Try and pick up a sponsor.--Phill

Did you forget, that the economy went down the tank because of the last guy? Ya Know The Repubes were in charge for 6 years, and then still had the presidency for another two.
What's happening in Iran, and the sentiment of the youth there, may be partially attributed to Obama and the way his leadership is perceived throughout the world.

No wonder we're the laughing stock, you guys are a joke. Reading comprehension?
Yes, you're absolutely right, it is about the last guy that's why Gonehuckin felt he needed to point out that:
So now we're not talking about the last guy, we're talking about the new guy, the guy who's "reestablishing our image around the world", the guy who's the topic of this thread. OK? Understand? We all on the same page here?
And the assertion that was made, that I felt was ridiculous and gave a couple of real world examples to demonstrate the fallacy of that assertion, has of course taken a back seat when the chance to divert instead into a good old "Bush Bashing" opportunity was universally embraced. Zombie mentality indeed."The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."

And guess what, "the new guy" doesn't live or have a presidency in a vacuum. Context and previous administrations have a huge impact on what he can and can't do. By being able to understand where we are, you then can see the progress thats being made. Sometimes I know this is tough for you "with us or against us" types.
Here is a good analogy that you might be able to wrap your head around. Can you tell how fast someone just ran a specific distance if you don't know where the starting line was? Nope.Last edited by gonehuckin; 06-17-2009 at 11:36 AM.
