Sarah Palin - STFU
You and your pals need to stop depending on the federal welfare machine. Remember Gates was originally a Republican appointment. Maybe the reason he wants to cut those expenses is because they are really nothing but pork. Lots of spend with no real return other than the rest of us get to pay for your pork in the form useless "jobs" in your state.
So stop with the BS scare tactics aimed at the ignorant and fearful - and those too stupid to understand what a lying welfare grubber you really are.

Hmmm,
I didn't see anything in Palin's comments indicating that she was against the cuts for Alaskas financial well being.
I'm no big Palin guy but I'm also not a mind reader. Is it possible she really wants the missle defense program as a possible defense against incoming missles?

There IS only 2 miles between AK and Russia. (between Big and Little Diamede Islands.)
So when she said she could see Russia is was more figure of speech then anything, but closer to truth then you might suspect. AK is the first line of defense against all of Asia whether it be Japan, Russia, China etc. That is why it has a huge military presence in the first place.http://www.carpathianskis.com

Did Palin actually say she could see Russia from her house or was that Tina Fey? I know the libdumbfux here are pretty goddamn dumb - I could easily see how they'd get the two confused.

She's the future of the Republican party! They went and found someone less intelligent than Bush knowing that people like Rubicon, DT, etc. eat that shit up.
There was a pretty funny news bit during the campaign where they went to those forsaken islands that actually are within sight of Russia. Most of the people (maybe 200) didn't even know who Palin was. But since they can see Russia they must be foreign policy experts.
[//quote]

Jer got something right? Only took about 19,000 posts, I'm sure he'll remember this one.
On the other hand, if you go back and read the actual transcript it's not any better. Even reading it now is tough--gives me the same feeling as seeing an actor flub lines on live TV, or a singer unable to get on key:
COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?
PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--
COURIC: Mock?
PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.
COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.
PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--
COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?
PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.
Wow.
[//quote]

The point of the "seeing Russia" comment was, and is, that she asserted a claim of foreign policy expertise because of the proximity of a couple of chunks of Alaskan rock to Russia. And she made a some related additional ridiculous statements on the topic of her military management responsibility.
Watch the interviews. Read the transcripts. And contemplate that along with Cheney, Rush and Newt, she is one of the key faces and voices of the Republican party. Scary.
And sorry Jer, she's someone lots of people pay attention to. Just because she embarrasses you as a "conservative" voice does not mean that millions do not view her as such. Like I said, scary.
If anyone thinks her whining for 1.2 billion bucks in pork has anything to do with national defense rather than vote defense, I'd love the have it explained to me.

From that video, Palin simply stated "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska..."
So, that's a fact, right? So what's the big deal? Oh I forgot...payback for Al Gore "inventing the internet"...Watch the seventh episode of

Who's Sarah Palin?
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

I like the quote I saw a couple of weeks ago on a thread somewhere:
If you are Right when you are young then you have no heart.
If you are Left when you are old you have no brain.
I am 29. Is that old or young?http://www.carpathianskis.com

Classic quote, you'll piss off many here my friend !!
You're right there in the middle where that soft spot in your skull is finally closing up, You probably have a real full time job and a family is eminent or being planned, and you can do some real critical thinking.... about just how fucking much you pay in taxes.Last edited by OSECS; 06-08-2009 at 03:02 PM.
