    Enchiladafest '09

I know it's a long time away, but I was thinking it would be kind of cool to do a big maggot group ride of the Whole Enchilada in the fall. I was further thinking that following the ride there could be a potluck dinner featuring...wait for it...enchiladas! Then people could consume vast quantities of mexican beer and tequila. Or something like that. Sound like fun? I don't have specific dates in mind, so if you're interested speak up an suggest some. I live in Moab, so I'm fine with whenever. If you think this idea sucks, then I'll cry myself to sleep for a few nights, but I'll get over it eventually.

We've been wanting to do the whole enchilada for awhile and will be doing a moab trip in the fall so we could be into this. I don't have much on the calendar for the fall except to ride.

I'd be into this...we did this last year and it was fun as hell. Personally, I'm booked in September with a trip and weddings but Oct could be done!

Sounds like a solid idea. Might want to split up into a few smaller groups as 'big groups' on the whole enchilada sounds risky for chance of mechs/injuries. Just speaking from experience

The first two weekends in October are 3-4th and 10-11th. How about one of those?

That ride looks awesome. Can I bring my SS? The 10-11th may be a long weekend for some - I get that Monday (Columbus Day) off.

I'll be down there for some partying and maybe some riding 10/3-4. I'd be stoked to join in.

Early Oct sounds good to me (2-4). I would prefer to avoid a holiday weekend since I don't get it off anyway.

This sounds like a stellar idea. Early October sounds perfect. I do generally get holidays off, but not that holiday, the Indians don't like Columbus, so don't care if it's the other weekend (and that might make for slightly fewer crowds).

Burro often snows in before October. Just saying... I hope the weather holds, because I'm pretty booked the last bit of Sept and I would love to make this work.

i didn't realize until recently that enchilada is essentially the whole porcupine trail with all the new upper parts added? skijunky and I usually go down to moab in oct for the 24 hour race but I think after last yrs uber windiness/cold we are going to say eff that race this year. porcupine sounds way more fun than racing behind the rocks for the millionth time. have any dates been decided?

Yup. Try and do it as early as possible. The 3-4 weekend would probably be good.

yeah, let's plan for that first weekend. The ride/party would be Saturday the 3rd, leaving the 4th for dealing with hangovers and maybe a lap around slickrock. I'll bump this thread a little later in the year if no one else has, but put it on your calendars. I'll be working on my enchilada recipe.

If I can make it, I'll bring a whole catering kitchen, and blow R.I's doors off (with y'alls help, of course...)
