Hey Sacto/Norcal/Tahoe mags - are there any ski swaps coming up soon?
I heard there was one in Sacto over the weekend. Unfortunately, I heard/remembered about it too late.
Are there any more?

I noticed that there's a ski and snowboard show coming up on Nov. 20-21, which has a ski swap. I have a feeling that the swap will be similar to the Los Angeles ski swap - crappy equiptment and gear for real cheap, but who would want it anyway.... Is this true?
I also noticed on the CSUS website that they have a ski swap every year. Here's what the site says:
Anyone been to this one?39th annual SKI & SNOWBOARD SWAP ‘04 - DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED! DON’T MISS THIS ONE-DAY EVENT OF HUGE SAVINGS OF 30-60% OFF ALL GEAR FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!

There'll be one in Davis too, but I've rarely seen anything worthwhile at it.

sorry Uber...I don't have any info for ya. I've heard of all those swaps you mentioned, but I've never dragged myself down to them so I'm not sure what they're like.
I think KW has one at some point during the fall...you might find higher end stuff there, but I don't know.

The Heavenly ski foundation always has a good one in Oct or Nov.
I'll put the word out when I hear a date.

I just hit Heavenlys big sale this weekend and scored some of the brightest most reddest pants you ever did see. The only stuff worth a glance was the soft goods all the skis were Heavenly type skis.
The wood is having a swap the weekend of the 24th during their big chili extravaganza.
Ill probably go out and have a look see though I doubt Ill see anything I cant live without.

I was driving back into downtown the other week and saw a sign for some HUGE building that is going to be a "Ski Sports and Patio" store opening in October.
I am trying to figure out what DIN to use on my picnic table, so I plan on at least checking it out. I assume there will be some kind of sale going on for the grand opening.
BTW, I am not exactly sure on the name of the place, but it did have some combo of Ski and Patio in the name. It was somewhere between where the 160 joins the 99 and the 99 meets the 80. (confused yet? I am.)________________________

The SAC State ski swap is (or has been in the past) pretty big. Lots of shops participating.
There is going to be a big swap in October in Kings Beach. This is the one that used to always be at Alpine...tons of good shit. Not too sure of dates, but I think it will be early October. It has always been heavily advertised.
If you're in SAC , call Land Park Ski and ask them about the Kings Beach swap. They go every year with a lot of stuff and I know from talking to the owner, that they will go this year.
I saw the patio furniture and ski banner too...strange combo.

Well, not necessarily filed under "bargain basement deals", but skiershop in Mammoth has Head 103s (183cm) for around 3 hundo. And, they have one 194 SS Stormrider for around 325 (at least that's what my buddy paid). Yes, 325. sick deal.
