Cascadian Volcano Raid part 8 0f 9 South Sister

Our goal for our last day in Oregon was a ascent up the South Sister via the west ridge and a decent via the proudy Glacier Headwall on the ENE side.

From base camp we had a amazing view of the sunrise alpenglow over the South Sister.

After passing by the Chamber lakes we started heading SW to acess the West ridge

The snow on the West ridge was wind scoured so we decided it was more efficient to bootpack

After 1300 feet of perfect fall line we do a low angle traverse 2200 feet back to camp lake

Then we packed up camp and made the 5 mile traverse back to the Pole creek trail head.
