    ST. John Snorkel Stoke

Summer's almost here and we just returned from a great week in St. John. It's 2/3 National Park and I'd highly recommend visiting to anyone looking to experience the Caribbean at it's finest. This was our tenth year there, and the water was a little cloudier than usual. Apparently it's a form of underwater pollen. Still, the snorkeling is awesome and the Dark and Stormy's on the deck can't be beat.

    My view:

    Some surfing:

    Some sailing:

    And lots of snorkeling:

I have a few more sunrise pics to add, but I think you probably get the idea... it's paradise!

I look and look but see no skiing, no snowboarding. Perhaps Americans have broad definition of skiing and snowboarding. Wong Fowum Jong think not. This post belong in Photo/Video talk. Maybe Padded Room. Your Choice. Move there. Or be very sorry.

I love that place.... I've stayed at Gallows Point (3-minute walk from Cruz Bay) a couple times, but I think next time we're going to rent a house. I'm sure you had a great time- looks awesome.

if you have enough people you should check out this place. i stayed there a few years ago with my family and some friends. the views are amazing and the beach is generally empty.

SkiJunky and Hutch, for these pics I used a relatively cheap ($250) Olympus Stylus 850 SW. It's the size of a pack of cigarettes and good underwater to 10 feet. I just swim with it in my hand or stuff it in my trunks pocket. Very simple and convenient. Where are you headed?

Grubbers, we've been renting the same house out near Francis Bay where we can walk to the beach. After April 15, the rates go down and it's almost as cheap as camping at Maho, but a lot more luxurious.

Smmokan, Gallows Point is beautiful and some good friends stay there (I remember giving you some other info about St. John):

    wong fowum...brilliant!

stunning pics, the corona beach views are beautiful, but the underwater shots are pure

ok, so you had something worthwhile to do while the rest of us were out harvesting the finest corn (and later, the finest available slush, slop, glop and puddles) - i was worried you were missing all the fun!

nice way to kick off the off-season, though some of us have not yet hung 'em up.

    thanks for sharing!

St. John is a great place. Spent a week there a couple years ago. There are some fun hiking trails on the island, beautiful beaches, and some really good sea kayaking down the channels.

Will be down there in June for a sail charter and diving. Love the underwater pics. I'm looking for a good housing for one of my point and shoots. Will be using it deeper than 10'. Looks like you got to see lot of sealife. Love St. Johns and Trunk Bay.

i have to agree with wong fowum jong... but i dont agree with where he told you to post it. pretty sure i saw a FISHING forum once when i hit PAGE DOWN by accident. you should post it there cause if youre gonna tease us with no snow you might as well tease them with no catch.

thanks for reminding me how I'm missing my yearly dive trip with my family. This will be my 1st summer in a while not going to the Caribbean. nice close up of the puffer, I have a bitch of a time trying to get a good shot of those bastards every year.
