FUCK!!!!!! the ski world will never be the same
Seeing another thread posted, I thought I might as well not let rumors run.
With a beer in hand and tears in my eyes, I have to say that we have lost one of skiing's greatest personalities, skiers and people today. Shane McConkey died in a ski BASE accident in Italy.
It goes without saying he was one of the most gifted, spirited and entertaining people on this earth, and he was my best friend.or don't

I just got the phone call.
This is not supposed to happen.
It's like hearing that Superman died.
The nicest, most talented, intelligent skier who revolutionized both the style of the sport, took it to places nobody could have imagined, and invented the greatest ski tools ever.
Every time I skied with him or saw him it was a dream come true.
The world has lost a gem. Supelative and without peers, he will be missed like no other.
++++++++ vibes to Sherrie, his beautiful child, and his parents and closest friends. My heart and soul weeps for and with you.

Every man dies. Not every man lives.
You don’t stop playing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop playing.

I thank Mckonkey every day I ride my pontoons. Much vibes and love from the Haines crew.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!!! What a ride!"
"We been runnin' these goddam hills for dang near, huh?"

That is fucking terrible news!
Scott, you are a big man to get this news out so fast. Our family up here in Haines is sending out lots of love and prayers to his family and friends.
This is not a good day for the ski world.

I have mastered all major sporting activities to a high degree of mediocrity.
