Tea Party Schedule
2009 Tea Party schedule for anyone who's interested.
Unless there's a big storm or something, I will be attending the Green Bay Tea Party on March 7th (for any of you who may want to come and give me a fat lip for being a big meany-head).
Anybody else planning on protesting taxation without representation?

What do you know, no tea party in the city that originated it. Remember, Samuel Adams was a terrorist by today's standards.

A little late for a Tea Party methinks.
Probably should have thrown your little tea party back on July 9th, 1953.
Or better yet, back on July 1862

I don't consider it stupid, both my parents have been paying taxes for 18 years unable to vote. During voter registration when all the cunts are out getting people to register, after we say we can't they always respond with "well why don't you just become citizens, it's not hard."

The only people who think it's stupid are the brainwashed complacent dopes who are just happy with the scraps they are thrown. Hey - they're there to serve the government. That's how this country works! I suppose my time would be better spent travelling to Calishitholefornia to protest a proposition that was actually voted on by citizens. Everybody knows the people have no idea what's best for them!

Also me. I, too, think it's dumb.
I'm all for fiscal conservatism and smaller government, but the American Tea Party thing is dumb.
First, the Tea Party has been done. It's so 1770s, maaaaan.
Second, the problem today isn't taxation, but spending (IMO). Where were these doofuses when Bush was spending and growing government? The spending has been going on for longer than Obama, longer than Bush, longer than Clinton.
So we have people who want to throw an unoriginal protest with no correlation to what they're protesting -- and invite Joe the Plumber.
Dumb.

Jer, do you really think its a good idea to throw tea into a lake during a recession? I mean, its kind of a waste and certainly can't be good for the environment getting fish all cracked out on earl grey. Or were you planning on throwing American made automobiles that nobody wants to buy into the lake instead? Either way, it will only help to contribute to the Global Warmingz.
Maybe you should throw a FULL BLOWN AIDS party instead. Just a thought.

"The Boston Tea Party" was a protest against taxation without representation. WTF does that have to do with the current stimulus package and lower taxes on the middle class and 95% of all Americans?

Yeah - just like the constitution. We need to just get rid of all that old, outdated crap.
The problem is government spending. Where do you think the government get's it's money from? Do they hold bake sales or something?Second, the problem today isn't taxation, but spending (IMO). I agree that it's nothing new. But are you honestly saying that because it's been going on so long we should just bend over and take it?
First off - Green Bay isn't on the lake.
Second off - if there were actually tea being thrown into a body of water it would probably be the Fox River. Have you ever seen the Fox River? I don't think any amount of tea is going to hurt that environment.

We don't need a new constitution. And we don't need a new, unrelated-to-the-problem tea party.
No, but focus on the problem. Cutting taxes isn't going to make the government cut spending (look at Bush and Co.). Only cutting spending will get them to cut spending. The problem is government spending. Where do you think the government get's it's money from? Do they hold bake sales or something?

And then once shit's balanced taxes may follow (though I don't mind my taxes that much right now. Sure it'd be great to have the extra $70k/year but I'm doing OK.)

I'd suggest a "tea bag" party where we take all the politicians who are screwing us over and exact some form of justice.
Only problem is, my rep is Barney Frank and he'd probably enjoy that sort of thing.
