Best time for Utah
Hello. I am planning on going to Utah to ski next year. I am doing alot of research now and I am wondering if someone could help me with WHEN to go.
Is it like february that has been the most pow-safe month to go?
- We are probably gonna land in SLC . How long is the drive for instance to Snowbird and to Alta?
Hope someone have the time to help me,its not too much info to find when living in Oslo, Norway.
Thanks.

Due to the current economic crisis, Utah has been cancelled.

March is great, good base, use noaa or weather.com for storm tracking, also a link on snow conditions her e for maps.
I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

I went Jan 24th to the 31st and it was fucking sick. It was also sick the week after I left and then the week after that..... and so on.
Took me like 10 minutes to figure out how to change this shit

I've had good luck in mid-March, and if you look at their recent pattern, you'll see why. http://www.alta.com/pages/snowhistory.php

Guys, I have been to Utah on last Feb, I did not enjoy a lot there....
I had noticed that Utah is the state which was fully distrubted by the economic crisis. Am I right guys?? However, the real estate industry is little up there as usual...

Yesterday and today were good too.
There's not really a "good" time, once there’s a good base everywhere, just unlucky HIGH PRESSURE
times.
You just take your chances… later in the season the coverage is better and the storms are more frequent but daytime temps can rise above freezing which is teh suck inbounds after the nightly refreeze.

I'd recommend winter. Usually better snow then.
Try to keep two ideas in your head at the same time without blowing your brains out your ass.

The best thing to do is to try to spend as many consecutive weeks in the area. If you go for only one week, you can strike out, even in a good snow year like this one.
For example, I was at Alta from Jan 4 to 9 = A
then Snowbird from Mar 14 to 19 = C-
then Alta from April 16 to 18 = B
and now back at Snowbird from April 28 = so far C+
Between March 19 and April 16, conditions were 95% legendarily A+.
Earlier this week was probably A/A-, but as an earlier post indicated, conditions don't hold for long this time of year.
So, it's not as much when you go, but for how long you can go. If you get the 6-8 weeks of vacation that many of my friends who work in Europe do, I would try to spend 3 to 4 weeks in UT in any of the months of Jan to April to increase your odds of a legendary UT experience. Also, if you're staying in SLC, keep in mind that it can be a bitch to get up the canyon roads on A+ days.

Love the pow!
Here are the snow totals for the last 5 months this season in Little Cottonwood Canyon:
Dec- 102"
Jan- 103"
Feb- 89"
March- 120"
April- 134"
It has been incredible. I have had a great season."All you have to do is to decide, what to do with the pow that is given to you".

Best time for Utah
I remember a couple of years ago, when alot of people used the chat room. Someone would post, "Im going to be there on Friday night between x-x oclock pst, if anyone wants to talk." That was fun.

You know yourre gonna need it soon. Just hope it holds together trough jan and feb, cause thats when I`m coming over to steal your pow. The snow that is.

if you give a nobel prize to a fucking liar like gore,or someone who has done nothing for peace(unless you count appeasement) ,i see why you cant figure out the drive from the airport to snowbird

When's the slow season for good rates on lodging lift tickets etc? Also thinking of a mid winter least coast escape.
All stunts performed without a net!
