Ha!!! No shit eh? Grabbing when you are skiing??? Give me a break. I don't know if it can get gheyer.
I grew up skating and surfing so I started boarding when I moved up into the mountains. I loved it and boarding Dodge, Bear and Kirkwood was great. Then I moved to MT and the amount of traversing and BC I wanted to get into had me grimmin' on the board. This is 95 or so. I worked at a MtnShop and we had tele shit so I tried it. There was nothing more foreign to me than going straight as opposed to right or left. Damn it felt weird and took me awhile to get used to. At least a couple years to get the feeling. I also loathed the fuk outa the EastCoast Trusties and their arrogance about their teles and snooty comments about boarders. I have never tried alpine. I try it on my skis but I am still learning. I love the carve of the board both FS and BS. Tele is close or kinda like always doing FS turns. I likes it. But I think is boarding is better if you don't have any traverses.
To each their own! Do what you dig. I kinda think a lot of folks might not try all forms of riding 'cuz they just dig what they are already doing...not looking to upgrade or whatever you wanna call it via the gear route.Squeezin' a little more every other day

I used to be really into snowboarding, but I got a massive case of scooch leg, which ended my career.
So, I then tried skiing, and realized that it is much more fun.

And there will be a day when our ancestors look back and cry for those who rejected snowboarding.
