Free GPS topo maps for NE?

looking for new England, and specifically VT, though i could use the other states as well.

    http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/

^^^ they have a lot of western states, but only NH topos, and those require a PS to use ( i have mac)

dont really want to pay garmin 100 bucks for a stupid chip with their maps on it when it gets rid of my street maps as well.

anyone got any advice? and yes I did try searching.

The NH topo strays significantly into VT -- basically from Nebraska Valley on down.
Or from 18 T 658967 4929345 then due south (covering the Green Mountain spine).
If you want Mansfield & Jay, well, I'm trying to get my wife to do those.
If you want Mac support, instead of Windows, I have no idea. (She does GIS for her work.)
Otherwise, the freebie maps have MA, NH, ME, and most of VT covered already.

You can use the normal files on a Mac after unlocking them on a PC, although you need to have a newer GPS and the Garmin Mac software to do so. I don't know about using free maps in the same manner, as my GPS is both missing and serial-interfaced rather than USB.

Oh, and the Garmin Mac software is Garmin Bobcat. I suspect gpsbabel can do a lot of related stuff, too, but I'm not sure.
