Outback blew a head gasket. What's it worth if I sell it as is?
Girlfriends 97 outback blew a head gasket today on the way up to snowbird. She's pretty bumbed because she was going to get her pass today but now has to put this money towards a car. The garage she usually uses quoted her between $1500 - $2000 to fix. If she decides to just sell it as is, what can she expect to get?
It's a 97 Outback with 145,000 miles. Body is in pretty good shape but has some scratches. Interior is in alright shape.

$3750 - $2000 = $1750 - I can drive it to see what else is wrong = $?
You can fix it yourself. It is not that hard. Just takes time.Last edited by ski_pdx; 01-31-2009 at 05:59 PM.
