Not a horrible deal as long as the frame is in good shape and the linkage and shocks are blown out....

Considering MSRP was $4900, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Click on Print in the upper right hand corner to see MSRP on archived models.

    COMPETITIVE XC
Let's be honest here: The endless pursuit of speed is the reason you ride. That might mean beating up on the regulars at your Saturday morning ride or leading the pack through a tough section of trail at a NORBA National. Proven at every level of competition-our 2007 S-Works edition has already won a UCI World Cup. The Epic, with its incredibly efficient Flow Control Brain suspension technology, is the fastest suspension bike in the world.

    MSRP: $4900.00
Don’t race. Leave that to the scorchers.

Lots of bike shops over ordered at the end of the year and are sitting on expensive, high-end inventory they know they will not move in the shit-conomy. Check into LBS's and you may beable to find a bike you like more, has never been ridden (so you know the history and can guarantee that carbon has no cracks), comes with warranty, and is still a kick ass deal. I saw a Blur LT for $1400 with mostly XTR components the other day - the deals are out there.
