Burly.
The trumpet scatters its awful sound Over the graves of all lands Summoning all before the throne
Death and mankind shall be stunned When Nature arises To give account before the Judge

08-12-2004, 01:33 PM #6Well, this webgeek gets slower page display as compared to IE and no progress meter for "Save Target As" downloads (it just displays nothing and then a downloaded file shows up X minutes later.)Originally posted by hev

Edit: going from Firefox to IE is like going from brand new full suspension ride to my old '95 hardtail GT. Popups! No tabs! Get me out of here!Last edited by 365wp; 08-12-2004 at 01:54 PM.

It's still slower for me, and this is on two different operating systems. *shrug*

you could always use "The Fastest Browser on the Planet"
http://www.opera.com/
lol. it sucks don't get it. I guess I haven't notice many performance issues. Its always seemed pretty quick for me, but I only use it at work on a t3 and usually within the network so a its poor test. It is highly configurable though.

Pound for pound, FireFox renders the same page slower than IE for me. I think I have bad mozilla mojo.

08-12-2004, 03:16 PM #11The one thing I've had problems with in Firefox is opening PDF files...and it's probably Adobe's plug-in causing the problems.Originally posted by phUnk

If I'm on a fast connection, the performance diff for me is negligible with the latest version of FF. Even on my crappy ol' 600MHz home machine.
Eh, time to turn off the work machine and go ride my bike.

How about Tools -> Options -> Downloads -> "Show Download Manager when a download begins"?
It was checked by default when I installed.
Hell, if you're having trouble, just poke through Tools -> Options. Everything is in there, and easy to get to.
