I am back (sorta)....
Tahoe / Bay Area mags.....
I have this weekend free and I'm itchin to get out of Sacratomato either Sat or Sun. Anyone up for some rides?
My dynamic injury duo (shoulder/knee) is good enough for light but long XC or road rides and I'm down for either. Bay or Tahoe? Skeggs or North Shore? Roadie or mtn?

oh and I talked to pizza today and he suggested Hole in the Ground....but we were just brainstorming.
maybe a run north to some Nevada City singletrack? hmmmmm......

Aww...come on. It only claimed one of my brake levers today. The rest of me made it out without a scratch.

I totally understand though. Maybe someone will hit up Skeggs this weekend. Or Purisima. A Folsom ride could be in order too...
Edit:
Hole in the Ground would kick ass too. Paging Lego! I wouldn't exactly call it XC though. It does have some technical sections. Plus it's long; 17 miles and 2,500 feet of climbing. Your knee may not like you very much.

Yeah I've ridden Hole in the Ground before...so I know what I'd be up against. I think the knee could handle granny gear spinning/climbinb...I don't think it would like climbing mash style in the big ring though. Unclippling quickly out of pedals with the bum knee could be a problem too...hmmm, there might be a lot of that, since I haven't ridden mtn since late June....hmmm.....maybe something smoother is in order......

how 'bout this?
Nevada City or Auburn area Singletrack Saturday(gonna be cooler here this weekend)....then BBQ / party at my pad Saturday night?

08-11-2004, 12:54 AM #10I would suggest Bullards Bar - its between Nevada City @ Downieville off 49, and is a non-technical smooth-as-a-babys-ass -schweet-middlering-ridding-ecstasy-inducing-pleasure to ride-piece-o-single-track-love....Originally posted by Tyrone Shoelaces

if you ride bullards make sure to stop at the south yuba for a cooling swim on your way back through nevada city.
kick ass swimming right under the bridge and usually some nice sunning eyecandy too. meaning fat guys with PBR tallboys and 17 year old highschool girls. hehe

you guys read my mind regarding Bullards' Bar. That's exactly the ride I had in mind if I were to head up there. Love that one swoopy singletrack downhill section at the far end of the reservoir....that trail would be perfect on my knee and would definitely get me my singletrack fix.
BC -- fat guys with PBR tallboys? Guess I'll blend right on in

I'll be in Reno Friday and the rest is up in the air - planning on Truckee Saturday afternoon for a hike, but might be up for some Auburn or Nevada City riding on the way home Sunday - or if you're interested, I'm planning to do a road ride in the Truckee area at some point this weekend. Keep me posted.

08-11-2004, 03:13 PM #19don't forget the rattle snakes sunning themselves on the rocks too! i had the scare of my life last summer: GF and I finished riding Bullards and hit the Yuba on the way home for a refreshing dip. We were scrambling a long the bank, through the rocks to find a private area for some swimming (away from said meth head WT near the bridge) when I look up and see Shasta, my 7 yr old yellow lab, frozen in his tracks w/that fur up on his back. Then i hear the rattle, and look down and about 5 feet from us is a huge old rattler staring at us.....i almost crapped my pants. i grabbed Shasta by the collar and slowly back-tracked......Originally posted by BC-FLOW

I'm up for riding this weekend. I'm out of shape - it's been a couple of weeks, so you've been warned!
Likely will want to stay around town, so sounds like I'm with the LS/DG/Arty crew. I'm up for anywhere. Skeggs - Santa Cruz (mmmm.... Braille Trail!) - Marin, whatever.“Within this furnace of fear, my passion for life burns fiercely. I have consumed all evil. I have overcome my doubt. I am the fire.”

08-11-2004, 04:08 PM #21why don't you kids roll on up to Marin Sat or Sun and we could all ride Tamarancho? I am game either day, would love to ride with all of ya'llOriginally posted by watersnowdirt

I'd be up for doing just about anything. Sunday works a bit better for me then Saturday. Also, I'm pretty outta shape (like WSD, except it's been a couple of years instead of weeks).
I'll give you a call tonight if I can, Mr. Shoelaces.
