The unfortunate skier pictured in these photos passed out. Luckily one of our patrolmen from Brokeback Mt. Ski Area was on the scene and gave the man mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and applied a warm compress to his frostbitten member. I am happy to report that the man is feeling well and is back to the slopes.

    downside of the backside

It appears that the main photographer, who was skiing and shooting on his own time, but who happens to work for Sharpshooters on the Vail mountain, has lost his job over this.

I'm curious to know what the specifics were of his contract at Sharpshooters. Could possibly be a wrongful termination suit in one of the many states that Sharp Shooter Imaging resides.

EDIT - he was suspended: "However, when he arrived at work on Monday, he was told that he was suspended until further notice."

    suspended or fired?

But his words re the suspension until further notice are:

“We all know what that means,” said Odom, who has been working for Sharpshooters since the beginning of the season. “I guess it embarrassed Vail Resorts, and they called (my) shop.”

He certainly feels fired. More on the contract from the article:

"Odom said his bosses told him that even though he wasn’t working at the time and used his own camera, he had signed a no-compete clause when he was hired, and that the photograph reflected poorly on the company."

In hindsight, he could have not used his name when distributing the photo. On the other hand, I imagine he could sell it here and there, if it's not too late.

I don't think the guy should lose his job for being a photographer and photographing the news on his own time with own camera. I asked Sharpshooters for an explanation of his suspension, I will post up the reply I receive if any.

If they don't respond, I will escalate this to the next level.
Any legal mags want to comment on any sanctions I/we may take or pursue to make these guys cough up the furball of their unrighteousness.

Vail does suck if they pressured Sharpshooters to suspend this guy.

Dangle man's wife is probably laughing at him saying:
"Now you know why I want you to put the toilet seat down!"
"All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer." Homer Simpson

Jeez, that's sad. He lost a chance at a solid career as a Vail mountain photographer. Now it's back to remembering how many shots in a grande.
