    Need a new hoss

So, I'm in the market for a new rig and need suggestions. I'm 6', 195, like going down the hill fast as possible, don't mind climbing. I like long top tubes as I have freakish apeish length arms. I like to support smaller companies. I want a 5+ full sus rig sub 28lbs. I live in Evergreen CO, can ride trails from my house that are not terribly technical and would do that most nights. I'm not hard on stuff, spent too many years on a bass boat Schwinn so I am more of a line picker than just bomb over it. My initial thoughts are:

    Yeti 575
Ellsworth Epiphany or Evolve (do these have breakage bummers?)
    Tomac Snyper
    Moots

I last had a 3" bike that I liked but am moving on. I have a Bianchi 29erSS and I like the big wheelie thing and am open to that I suppose...

    thx

C'dale prophet should be cheap as they have replaced them with the moto and Rize. My prophet is 28 pound and still very durable.

for 29er. that is 4-5" travel, and still 30 pound ish

I would steer clear. The Ellsworths are super spendy and on top of all the breakage problems that have been reported online I've met a couple of actual people who have had lots of problems too. It's totally unacceptable considering how much their bikes cost.

If you're willing to spend some coin don't forget Turner. A 5 Spot or RFX would rock. Plus their bikes are extremely stout.

Turners are a sweet choice, for sure!

Titus FTM. Looks like a sweet rig. Might be spendy to get below 28 lbs.
Ive got a Motolite and it just rocks.

oh yeah? Well then, there you have it. I'll look into the Turner thing, have always heard good stuff about them. What do you think of the Yeti? They're so fricken common in CO I'd feel like I'm on the everybody bike sorta.

risking pissing everyone in Colorado off-- I think there are better bikes out there then the 575--- I really like the Giant reign (amazing bike) or the lighter trance X -- may not be $bling$ enough for many but these bikes are awesome! And for what its worth- my .02- they both will kill a 575

Common for a reason. Dope bikes for sure. I like the horst suspension better from titus though.

Dont Rule out an Ibis Mojo.

These bikes are frickin sick. I know that the Basic Build is 28lbs flat and just about 3Gs at retail.

Mine weighs in at 28 but I have some heavy stuff on it (Like a Fox 36 and DHX Air shock and a beefy wheelset). I can easily drop 4-5 lbs with a lighter fork, more XC style wheels, Tubeless tires, and seatpost.

There are a few guys riding those Mojos and the Mojo sl around these parts. They're killer. Climb like a goat.

There is also a good thread here about them.

I'm building one up myself soon after riding L8APX's. I tried killing him for it, but he came back from the dead and took his bike back.
The ibis guys are pretty cool too, they returned my email with asinine questions in it within ~6 hours.

nah, just regular. I don't really see the need for the SL, and given my habit of breaking stuff, going lighter is not advisable.
