    Ma Nature was putting on quite the display tonight. Unfortunately, there is no public place where it's legal to watch something like this in the middle of the night.

    I did manage to get one good pic before the cop showed up:

    EDIT: Thanks Z-bo and Phatty! Adding this second version with the highlights and overall exposure pumped up a bit. Does this appear to have banding issues on your monitor? Which do you like better?

    Here's a pano crop:

    @willie,
    Damn!

    There are parts I like about both takes; I don't see any banding. I lean towards the slightly brighter version, non-pano. I do think you need to tilt the horizon towards the left a bit but I could be wrong.

    Thanks fellas.

    The horizon is problematic. The far shoreline is angling away to the left which is what makes the water/land interface look tilted. Combine that with the pattern of waves/wind on the water and the foreground rocks which were also angling away as they ran left and it does make the horizon look tilted. But, notice that the buildings are all vertical. If I changed the apparent tilt in the horizon it would tilt all the buildings.

    Splitter - Aiden sure is a lucky kid. What a beautiful place to grow up.

    A few from last weekend's trip to Crested Butte. Props to the last few pages of pictures, BTW... the quality of images gets better every week it seems.
