From last night photo courtesy of The Mt Washington Observatory. Northern light show. Pretty rare to see around these parts. Wish I was there to witness. Too good. Not to share.

Sometimes you take a picture and you get the unexpected, like an extra sunburst on the wheel.

^That first shot is rad! Did you light the wave with a flash or just with a headlamp or something?

It was 36 degrees when we started yesterday. I promptly pulled a muscle in my quad doing one foot wake crossings. This is my friend engulfed in the boats exhaust stream.

I arrived at the base of Mt Washington at around 12:30am and left around 1:30am and did not see anything. Messed around a bit and took these.
I tuened on the setting to clean up the noise of using a high ISO and when I turned up the details in during processing I got these sort of faint rings?
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Tuckerman, the rings are due to your UV filter! I had the same issue on my first round of borealis photos, but luckily saw that tip in an article.

Zartagan, really cool under the bridge shot. Trying to get those symmetrical is hard (at least it is when I've tried it).
Here a few from today in VT...
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

"No Pain, No Gain" - I never thought that shooting a road bike race could be very interesting, but boy, was I wrong...
12°C and heavy rain made for some spectacular shots!
