My girlfriend shot these and I post-processed (and stiched the pano). Was impressed as I literally spent 5 minutes the night before explaining how to use my DSLR. She really enjoyed it and wants to learn more and take more pictures. Awesome!

Played Wildcat's lift serviced "Alpine Disc Golf" course for the first time last weekend. I was solo for the day, so this one is self-shot with the timer..

Got the chance to visit an uninhabited former leper colony in the Cape Cod islands last weekend. Definitely different. All that stands is a closed down school, a leper graveyard and a dock.

The Treasure fire near Leadville

The smoke drifted north and made for a beautiful sunset.

splitter, this last set is awesome. Any HDR? Did you pull the blues down (saturation and/or luminance)?
This one in particular looks almost like a computer drawing. Just a bit of haloing around the edges (evident most clearly around the tree at center-right). But fantastic images nonetheless!

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. The lake was very full (less cool island foregrounds), the clouds were non-existent, but the wind was more than happy to show up.
@fuzz, thanks, I'm not sure why that has such a painterly look. No HDR. It was shot after the sun went down, but still polarized with a CP that gave me a darker sky. The blues were pulled down a touch on luminance, and most other channels were pulled up on luminance to brighten the overall frame.
I did use the GND tool in lightroom to lighten the foreground rather than darken the sky. Perhaps the halo-ing is an artifact of that? I do see it however. I also pulled up the 'clarity' a touch which might contribute to the halo-ing.
A few minutes before the previously posted shot, still after sunset, with a tent...

The 70-200 F4 is such a kick ass lens. I only took about twenty pictures this morning.

Awesome shot Ugly! Shooting from the boat is really hard to do. Here's one from last summer. Makes me wish I had those skills.

@ugly
beautiful, shiny reflection in the foreground...
Really crisp. The lens is nice, the execution is nice. I do wish he looks like he was having more fun.
@phildo,
Looks like different lighting conditions. Ugly shot in the morning, I'm guessing the sun was a little higher in the sky and behind your skier.
but I like the comp and the spray behind the skier

Yeah. There were some storm clouds a long way off and the lowish sun was popping in and out from behind them so the color was popping one moment and flat the next and everything changes everytime the boat changes direction. I wish he was smiling as well and we laughed about that on the boat this morning since it isn't the first time he and I have discussed the smile!
Thanks for the comments and kind words on that pic guys. A few minutes later the good light was gone for good...

Yeah, shot mid-afternoon with the sun behind the skier there. On the other side of the boat, the light was too harsh to make anything interesting. I have wanted to go back and shoot that same photo at sunset, to try and get a full silhouette and a red spray. Not sure if it's possible tho...
