BTW... that thread is excellent for setup pictures and their result. Almost 200 pages of awesomeness.
Chad-those were shot with a glass casserole dish filled with water, add some cooking oil, put some color underneath, flash it and you get some interesting shots especially when you swirl the oil around.

Systems setup gives you this look

Thanks fellas. I like the more organic shapes and patterns in your originals but advres' link is also helpful. Looks pretty easy but cool results...

Thanks. That one I used the GND tool on LR3. I took the exposure, saturation and contrast down. I also took the contrast down throughout the photo which ultimately makes the dynamic range seem more uniform.

I would like to have used a polarizer to see into the water better, but this was with the 11-16mm Tokina and a CP typically streaks the sky with that wide of an angle, so I don't even have one for that lens.

I thought that morning was a bit of a throwaway, it's nice to revisit and find something reasonable.

from the same morning, a bridge I posted before but was never happy with... It's getting closer

That's a good question. My girlfriend has wanted to have the test run on her to find out but I think it's too expensive.

She's not so much a puppy, I think she's probably around 2 years old now. She does and will probably always look like a pit pup. We think she is some kind of boston terrier/pitt mix. Maybe a rat terrier.

We adopter her because her original owners didn't want to pay for her hospital bills after she was hit by a car and had leg damage.

In that shot she looks alot like my rat terrier that's why I asked.

FWIW I call all dogs "puppies".

Amelie is progressing from just a few trying standings, usually leaning back towards the couch, crawling around on the floor, to sprinting around the albeit very small apartment in just one day. Hell yeah, I´m a proud dad.

I'm not usually a wild life photog, but when they are in your back yard, you've got to run for the camera.

I'm a hack, and I struggle with action shots, and horses terrify me so I wasn't about to get super close, but I had fun trying to shoot my lady working with this pony the other day.

IMO I think you might be able to crop in on some of that action. Looks like a fun subject to shoot.
