Blue Ben

I had the bulb setting on and fired the flash through a blue nalgene, then turned the camera to the oncoming traffic and the road right in front of the car. Needless to say, driving through Wyoming is pretty boring.Last edited by Out_to_lunch; 03-05-2009 at 01:14 AM.

Playing around with infrared:

Black and white is a whole other world I am just starting to learn about so C&C is very welcome.it's all young and fun and skiing and then one day you login and it's relationship advice, gomer glacier tours and geezers.

While I'm not sure about infrared... a general rule of black & white is that you want at least one element in the image to be as black as possible and another to be almost pure white. The above two look a bit over-exposed and hence there is no true black; another consideration... the tree trunks in the first come close, but remember, discounting geometrics, the eye is drawn to the darkest or the brightest part of an image, which tends to make either of those your subject. What do you want the focal point to be?

Lev, that is a really cool shot! I would be tempted to crop it before the green though, so there is only that one color.
Rubicon, I love that IR stuff. You have a great eye for nature composition! I could see either of those hanging on my wall.

Thanks, Single. I've seen you put some very cool stuff up in these parts, so I will certainly take that as a compliment. I thought about cropping out the green and decided to leave it. I know it leaves the eye to wonder a bit, but I also like the added perspective. I could play around with it a little...
