Thread: Picture of the Day

A while back there was a thread about shooting birds, I've been spending a lot of time shooting song birds and birds of prey when out travelling. I'm hooked-there is never a lack of subjects and it's a lot harder than it seems.
I have a hard time just putting up 1 or 2 pics.
Lots of Ospreys and hawks in the Madison Valley.
Been keeping an eye on this Bald Eagle's nest all spring. Waited for a long time Sunday for the adult to return to the nest but she only returns once or twice a day. This baby eagle already has a wingspan of 4-5 feet.
Losing resolution on this crop.

outabounds....sick. Make a stoner's coffee table book?
I just got my 40D today...went for a quick stroll this afternoon to start learning how the hell to use a canon camera. Came up with this - not a macro lens so getting the focus right was tough.

That's a great shot, jce. Dig the color contrast and smooth background.
Shralph, that's burning steel wool swung around behind the waterfall. One of my photo bros does a lot of killer light painting and I finally got out there with him. You'll probably be seeing more because I had a blast with it.

Yesterday in Iowa was nice
T2i w/70-200F4l and B+H polarizer. Super, super happy with this rig! Set it up and gave it to a friend who took this pic. Hard to get that lens to take a bad image.

well played time2climb.
A farm I consult for had 15 piglets on Saturday. These guys are just a few days old, many days away from making the best bacon you've ever tasted.
