dfinn I like the orange glow on the snow. Awesome
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

As much as I like the cityscape, I'm really digging the lighthouse.

    mtcham again with the eagles...

dfinn - is that all natural light or did you use any kind of filter or HDR processing? I've never been able to get that much foreground detail in a sunset shot. Very nice!

Natural light. Saturation is bumped but that's about it.

    Congrats Single!

OverTurn - gonna have to think about those...

Had excellent lighting and really clear air today.

This is the Alpental ski area taken from across the valley on Kendall Ridge:

This is a 5.8 mb, 16 megapixel version of that same image. Let me know what you think.

If it shows up distorted at first, click on the image and it should display at full resolution and the correct aspect ratio.

This is Chair Peak, just North of Alpental:

Here is a 3.8mb, 16mp version of that image. Same issue with possible distortion/resizing:

Hmmm, actually Guye Peak forms the ridgeline in the foreground and Bryant Peak is the lesser peak at left in the distance.

Thanks for reminding me of things I love most: Snow and Mountains. Nice sharpness.

A few sunset photos from Chestnut on closing day a couple weeks ago. They did a great job of keeping snow on the slopes this year despite the incredible warm weather. All of these are with the 24-105.

    er

And my little girl is about to turn two.
